It wasn’t broke but they”fixed” it anyway!

Three's a Charm

I have been watching this program for ALL of its 50 years. I downloaded the 60 Minutes app as soon as it became available. Loved it. The new version STINKS! Andy Rooney would not like it either. The 60 Minutes app used to be the best on my phone.

I still tune in to the show regularly. However, sometimes life gets in the way. It was always a delight, with the earlier versions of the app, to catch those segments I missed on my iPhone. I could also preview the upcoming segments. I thought the previews disappeared, but they are apparently now just slower to load.

It seems the we now have “commercials”. At 65, I have too little time to waste on that. Plus, the user had an option to become an “All Access Subscriber” to get certain features. What’s THAT all about? Apparently, 50 years of loyalty counts for nothing at CBS. If you care about 60 Minutes, you have to put up with this NOW ANNOYING version of the app.

I don't like

This app. Is pretty good but at times can get a little quirky. The thing that really pisses me off to a hilt , especially that 60
Minutes is so good at taking the moral high, they will take upon themselves to automatically renew your subscription every year
Not even giving you any
other options. It's very possible you could be end up, even if you are no longer using the app. Paying for it for the rest of your life. Or until the human race becomes extinct. Which ever happens first. 60 minutes is just counting on the fact that you will simply forget about it. This is such a slim ball tactic. Even if you call 60minutes to request getting off autopay they will refuse to comply. Maybe we need to run 60minute report on 60minutes

Liked the 60 Minutes 32 bit app better

Miss Amaretta

The old 32 bit app gave full access to the archives which I really loved. Now you need a very pricey subscription to CBS All Access. If you are well off and don’t mind getting dinged all the time, the app is probably OK. If you have to watch your credit cards closely, you might want to think twice about it. It is easy in but hard to get out of.
CBS isn’t the only one to get greedy with the new 64 bit apps (since iOS11 the old ones don’t work). Many others have done the same - Cooks Illustrated comes to mind. It is just that 60 Minutes didn’t seem to be that kind, but this is the way it is.
