Ratings and Reviews
Works, needs more features
The app does what it says on the tin. It shows you what exercises to perform, shows a wireframe person doing them, and lets you know how when you should start and stop.
The signature feature—counting your repetitions for you with the front camera (so you can watch the demonstration and have it count your reps at the same time) seems to work well. Counting your reps allows the app to accurately track how many calories you've burned.
Unfortunately this useful feature is made less useful by the complete absence of any sharing, syncing, or exporting features except weight syncing with the Health app (which didn't work for me). There is literally no way of getting your calories burned into your fitness tracker of choice other than remembering them and entering them by hand into another app or website.
I also would like a way to see the instructions for each exercise while you are supposed to perform it, instead of just before or after the workout. You can see a demonstration while you're doing it, but no text description.
The workouts themselves seem to work fine, apparently based on some research into the benefits of this kind of exercise. There are many different types of 7 to 11-minute workouts to fit your preference, but they're not customizable. All I know is that the workout feels good to me—challenging without being overwhelming or overtiring. You can set your own intensity level to a great degree, based on how many repetitions you perform in the given time.
I almost rated this app three stars due to its deficiencies, but it's a promising app that does what it promises; it just needs a few more features. Hopefully the developers will see fit to improve it.
