If you like 8tracks, help us by writing 5-star ratings!
8tracks is definitely my favorite iPhone app, and it really hurts to give it such a low rating. As a frequent listener on 8tracks ( 2,200+ liked mixes), I really have high expectations for the app. The update is wonderful, everything is sleeker and more aesthetically pleasing. The worst thing about the update, that CONSTANTLY causes inconveniences for me, is the difficulty of searching tags. If I'm searching/exploring for playlists that are tagged "Mason Verger", I should be able to see the playlists tagged with Mason Verger. Instead, I am provided with artist names that contain either Mason or Verger, and playlists titles that contain either word as well. Another example is if I want to find playlists that are tagged "yung lean", I SHOULD be able to find that. Instead, when I search "yung lean", I am shown artists by that name (or names similar to it), titles that contain either word, and a single tag that just says "lean". It's ridiculous that it's become harder to find playlists by tags because of this update. Also, while on the playlist page, it shows the tags right under the title, but its impossible to click on the tag. If you just allow us to tap on the tag and see other playlist with the same tag, life would be a lot easier.
Thanks a lot for 8tracks, I'd be lost without you... I never write reviews, but it would mean a lot if this problem were fixed.
The Best I've Ever Had
[first of all, the fact that anyone can make a playlist or play any other playlist created by others is genius. Real people putting together their old and new songs to make genre specific or broad mixes and sharing with the world] I will never stop exclaiming about how great 8tracks is in general, both the site and the App Store app. And since there have been updates to display how many tracks are on the playlist, similar mixes, comments, tags, etc. in the mobile app, it is truly perfection. Not only does it run like magic, but the support to back it is simply incredible. Before 8tracks mobile was updated with the new features, I emailed the questions/comments address expressing my concern with the lack of information (playlist track listing, etc.) and within 2 hours, I received a personal reply from one of the 8tracks team members apologizing for the inconvenience and informing me that my feedback was important and they'll work on my suggestion. Interactive with its users, kind with its policies, and the best music app anyone will ever discover, thank you 8tracks. You've opened up my life to fresh new music. Revolutionary.
I find myself using 8tracks more often than I use Pandora. Although some of the things in the 8tracks app could be a lot better. I think you should add a function where you can play other playlists like you can online. (Instead of just your mix list, your history, and likes. I have different playlists for different shows I watch or different playlists for different types of music that I enjoy. Besides the tracked tags, that is.) And I think you should be able to edit or add your mixes from the app itself, not even necessarily create the mixes on the app but be able to hit upload on a mix you finished on the computer.
Just my two cents, great app though.
