Customer Reviews

Okay, I understand, not everyone can afford the luxury of a few bucks a month to help support the best music app I've ever come across-

But you don't have to tear out their throats. They are TRYING. In this business, the 8tracks team is doing what they can to keep the app alive and well. Guess what? Streaming music isn't free!

PLEASE take a second and think about subscribing and HELPING the app rather than getting red faced and complaining that a service that others are trying very hard to provide for you is no longer free.

I LOVE this app. I have tried others. I have tried so many, and initially I was upset as well about the new developments- but I love this app and its community, and I think they're doing what they think is best. I recommend this app to everyone I know- and now, I warn them that you barely get any listening time if you aren't subscribed- but I also tell them that I think it's worth it if you can afford it. I understand not being able, but please also understand you cannot keep expecting services for free. It kills smaller start ups and companies- because only the big companies can afford that. So please, try this app. See if you like it, and if you can, consider supporting it.

I've been using this app for 3+ years now, and a month ago I became a subscriber so I could continue to use it. I stand by it 100%.

You sold out, for the love of money not music

You guys have been my go to music app for over 4 years now and I loved what you guys had to offer, the best part about it was that it didn't break the bank like all the other music platforms. what I don't understand is how I listened to the app for 4 years without having to pay a dime and now I have to pay as much as any other music app to get the same thing I was getting before. You sold out for profit alone and that pains me, I truly admired what you guys were doing for the music community but that era is over. I was so close to investing in the app but that would have been money down the drain as I am now deleting 8tracks off my phone :( RIP 8tracks you had a good run. Let me know if you ever decide to make playlists for the love of music and not for the love of money.

I used to use this app for all my music purposes because of how easy it was to create and share playlists and new music with a wide audience. Now? Ridiculous listen limits of 50 minutes per week unless you pay a monthly fee, leaving it inaccessible to a huge portion of the user base. Useless now, even if I shell out the fee the amount of people I will be able to share lists with will be crippled by this restriction. Users are leaving 8tracks in droves. This app and website are just no longer friendly, look elsewhere. I already have a subscription to Apple Music and that's where I'm staying.
