Duo Mobile works with Duo Security's two-factor authentication service to make logins more secure. The application generates passcodes for login and can receive push notifications for easy, one-tap authentication on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Additionally, you can use Duo Mobile to manage two-factor authentication for other application and web services that make use of passcodes.
Note: For Duo accounts, Duo Mobile needs to be activated and linked to your account before it will work. You will receive an activation link as part of Duo's enrollment process. You may add third-party accounts at any time.

Works as it should
Whenever I attempt to log in to my firm’s resources, I must enter a password. Before approving the login, I am notified within seconds of the request and have large buttons to either approve or deny the login. It works well, and I’ve dealt with really clunky systems for two-factor authentication before.
Lots of student complaints about having to use two-factor here. Take it up with the schools, cause the app works as it should. [Best old man voice:] You kids these days don’t know how easy you have it. In my day, before smart phones, we had to walk around with a fob on our keychains that had a randomly generated number on it that cycled every 15 seconds. We had to (get ready for it) manually enter the eight digit number from the fob into the computer within that 15 second window, and if you mistyped a single number, it’s be too late; you’d have to wait for the next eight-digit number to appear and race to enter that one before it too expired. That’s what we were doing when we weren’t busy walking 20 miles in the snow each way to and from school—even in the summer—and working in the coal mines after classes.

Thanks for your review. We're glad to hear that Duo has given you a better 2FA experience than the ones from "the good old days"!
Works as expected, many misinformed reviewers
Wow, I’m surprised at the number of negative reviews for this app from students who do not understand basic two factor authentication concepts complaining about decisions their institutions have made that have nothing to do with the developers of this app. Complain to your IT admins if you really want to make a scene about necessary security measures.
I hope the low average rating does is not too detrimental to you developers. This app performs as it is supposed to and I can log in with push notifications at my institution or with generated codes for other accounts I chose to enable 2FA on.

Thanks for your review! We appreciate it.
App takes up time
I honestly have no clue why this is needed for my university account. Literally nothing of worth is stored on these accounts and if it were this system isn’t going to prevent anything. Waste of time. And shame on this company for reaching out to university’s to get them to use this feature. Like if it were my bank account I wouldn’t mind. But honestly for a university acc it’s pointless but I do understand the need for an app like this however they should stop support universities so I don’t have to go through this extra step every time. My university already makes me change my password every 120 days and that is the dumbing thing every. I just make it the same password that’s a little altered. Cause every time I change it I keep typing in the old password get locked out and have to change it again.

We're sorry that you are having a negative experience with the app. However, keeping all of your accounts secure against hijacking is important, especially if you share passwords between them or have personal information associated with them. University-related credentials can be connected to your financials, privately-identifiable information, and so on. We also recommend that you do not publicize how you might choose to select passwords, as it could weaken your security posture.
