Fun and easy to use

I've only edited a few photos so far with A Color Story but it's super fun and easy to use. IMO the app works best for bright colors and well-lit photos. I edited a photo I took outside on a rainy night using a color story and I liked the version from A Color Story better than the iPhone edits alone. But generally I have trouble finding the right filters for low-light photos - however that could be b/c I need more practice using the app. I haven't bought the add-ons but the basic package alone is great. It's easy to use and I would recommend this app to anyone who likes to give their photos something extra.

Too much of a gamble

The filters that are available for free don't do anything that Instagram doesn't do. I did not touch is any filters. I might have done so if they had the ability to display the filter on my photo before purchasing it maybe with some kind of large obnoxious logo over it. Or a sign that said must purchase for $2.99 but I could kind of see around at the effect it would have on the photo. That way you would know what I'm getting myself into. But as is they want you to buy completely blind to the facts and I didn't see anything that I wanted in the free pack so I'm not about to spend money and hopefully get something I want. It's too much of a gamble.

Better filters and more control

Prior to finding A Color Story, I primarily used Pic Tap Go, which was also a strong app and one that I used heavily for a few years. This is even better. My phone is a little older and my kids are fast-moving. Additionally we live in a northern climate so daylight can be scarce. With all those factors working against me I can still make nice images with this app. "Lite Brite" filter alone is worth a download.
