Simple fun. A bit like Boom Blox, but not really. It's own game.
I got this while it was free and it's definitely a fun game. I think if the price is anywhere from 99 cents to $2.99, it would be worth it, and certainly for free. There's a bit of a Boom Blox aspect to it, but this is it's own game. There's no limit on shots, instead the challenge comes from trying to knock the bad blocks off the pedastal without knocking off the homework blocks, which is required to get 3 stars (you lose one star per homework block knocked off). It's easy to win a level, but not so easy (as you get further in the game) to get 3 stars. I haven't gotten that far in the game yet, but so far the challenge isn't that high, so consider this fun, light fare. I suspect it will get a lot trickier as I get further, but if it doesn't that's fine too. This is just a fun little game.
There's a high score of sorts for each level, recording how many shots it took you to get 3 stars, though I'm not sure how compelling that is. I haven't found myself going back to try to finish levels in fewer shots, at least not yet. There's a fair number of levels in the game now and the developer is promising more. Overall this is a great little game and an easy recommendation.
Priase for AMAMH!
I downloaded this game with the expectation of it being another waste of computer space. Well atleast, that's what all of the other free games I've downloaded have been. I was mistaken. The music isn't the greatest, but is far better from the annoying "happy-pants" music you hear in EVERY OTHER APP. It's graphics are simple, but intriguing. You start off thinking "this game is soo easy" after about 20 levels you start thinking "crap! This is challeneging!". if you like simple game play, but challeneging scenarios, this is the game for you. If you like hitting things. This is the game for you. As far as I'm concerned, if you like breathing, this is the game for you.
P.S. Note to developers, I think the game would benefit if each level had a par system. So instead of setting your own goals and beating them, make it so you have a par to hit. Possibly have it as a setting? So if you don't want to have to hit par, you don't have to?
Great game. One complaint.
In my opinion, it's a great game; well designed and contains great complexity. My complaint is that I've noticed that it's a bit hard on system recources. Running at "Good" graphics, I'm getting a lag every once in a while, and my [late 2010] MacBook Pro fans are kicking up to 6000RPM, which I believe is their max. It doesn't seem like a graphically demanding game to me, but it appears to be a graphic hog. It likes to take a lot of my RAM too. I only opted to go with 4GB (which I regret), and this small game takes a fair amount of it. Lastly, this runs my CPU at max power as well, which makes it reletively hot, the CPU fan also running at max; I don't like maxing my components, I want them to last a while. I've not tested the game with battery life, but looking at the other areas where it hogs resources, I'd assume it likes battery power as well.
