- minor bug fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements
We welcome your input, and will give careful consideration to your thoughts as we improve the AAA Mobile app for your use.
Poorly designed, zero support
There’s a long list of things that are wrong with this app but first and foremost is the fact that it demands access to the user’s location at all times, even when the app is not in use. This app serves no purpose whatsoever when I’m not in need of emergency service, and that’s the one and only time it should be accessing my location. This is both an invasion of privacy and a ridiculous drain on battery life. Disabling 24 hour GPS access results in an obnoxious warning message every time you start the app, along with having to manually enter your address/location when requesting service. Ridiculous.
Once they get that fixed, they should add support for 3D Touch so users can request road service with a single click.
No Location Services for Roadside Assistance
There's many bugs and problems with the app, sure. But I can forgive those for now, the app needs to be fixed and there's only so much they can do at once. AAA is also a not for profit, and the work on this app is on a budget- and probably a tight one.
However there is one major design flaw.
It requests location services, but it doesn't do anything to help aid dispatchers or the drivers.
If I call for help, I should be able to send a 'help!' beacon to the driver and dispatch so they can see exactly where I am.
I can see where the driver is now, why can't he see me where I am? It's much more important did him to know where I am than- I him.
Problem w roadside assistance
Problem with roadside assistance no matter what car you select it only picks the first wrong car. I had this issue when choosing battery service as the choice for roadside assistance. Disappointed that AAA for such a emergency requirement for their service handles this a app so poorly. It's like AAA is operating 20 or 30 years ago without GPS services.
