Great Planning App
I just re-downloaded this app from the App Store for the second time. I initially downloaded AAA two years ago and wasn't all that impressed, so I deleted it.
I just downloaded the new version the other day and I find it to be an outstanding road trip planning tool.
Using the map function, you can save addresses, contacts or points of interest. It will also filter the map to show campgrounds, lodging or other POI's. (Campgrounds is what I'm looking for.) Then it will route directions and calculate approximate travel times from my current location or, by manipulating the itinerary, it will calculate from one point to a another.
I'm sure the database is incomplete but none of them are. My assumption is it will develop over time.
Current version hangs on iPhone 6S.
I thought you might be interested in a status update. I once again started your AAA app, but this time I also started my System Status app which indicated that I was running at 55% CPU utilization. I then stopped your app and "lo and behold" my CPU utilization dropped to just 5%, further indicating a loop in your AAA app. Are you working on it? Just as an FYI, my original comments follow.
This is the 3rd update to the AAA Mobile App that I have installed on my iPhone 6S (running iOS 10.2) in the last 3 weeks. Your app either crashes immediately or "hangs/freezes" and won't take input. With 40 years of programming experience this is usually the result of a "tight loop" which is not responding to external interrupts. Try again, and as I stated in a previous review, "This is a rookie programmer's mistake. Don't you test?"
This app came in handy tonight when my car was stranded with a dead battery. I haven't had any of the issues that other reviewers have noted, so I guess I'm lucky. If this is already in the app then just ignore this, but it would be great if roadside assistance would be able to pull my exact GPS location (with permission) instead of me telling them. Luckily, I was stuck at a friends house and not on the side of a highway or a rural road or I may have had difficulty giving my exact location to the dispatch.
