Dinosaur ABCs is a new type of educational phonics game where kids can use touch gestures to interact with letters and Dinosaurs. These letters produce phonic sounds and can be moved to form words. What makes this game so unique is that it is done in a film like interactive storybook where voice narration is used throughout the game.
The development team's goal in Dinosaur ABCs was to make a game that that had a combination of five elements fun, interactivity, story telling, music and lastly Dinosaurs. Many of the educational games on the app store had poor game design, poor interactivity, no story, terrible sound and most importantly were simply not fun.
We believe that children learn better when they have fun learning. Dinosaur ABCS lets kids have fun learning to spell words and Dinosaur names.
In Dinosaur ABCs we aimed to capture the essence of traditional cartoons of the 1960s and 70s like the Road Runner and combine it with the modern capabilities of the iPad where you can interact with the characters on screen. We painstakingly used traditional frame by frame animation coupled with a great soundtrack to capture the feel of that era of cartoons. The final product creates a new standard for educational games that merges nostalgia of the past with the magic of the iPad that we hope millions of children can enjoy.
Has Retina Graphics for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4g, iPad 3
What's New in Version 1.8
Major Update: Made game much easier and more fun for kids.
More difficult words taken out.
Game is much quicker now: Transitions between levels sped up significantly, levels shortened, cutscenes reduced in time, animations and narration times reduced.
Certain words and sentences have been rerecorded.
Could be better
It could be better in certain parts. As it stands it has quite a few good features like the animations and nice drawings, still it needs to have a better characterization of story.
Its not bad.
Educational and fun. Has some interesting words. Could be more instructive though on certain things.
Downloaded with hopes that it would teach individual phonic sounds but only spelling, and the background song that plays over and over is annoying!
