NYC Health Department Restaurant Inspection Grades
Find restaurant grades and detailed inspection reports for each of the City's 24,000 restaurants using the NYC Health Department’s free mobile restaurant inspection app. Check inspection letter grades at restaurants near your current location or search by restaurant name or neighborhood. Information is updated daily, so you’ll have the latest results.
The Health Department conducts unannounced inspections of restaurants at least once a year. Inspectors look for compliance with food safety rules for food handling, food temperature, personal hygiene, vermin control and more. Each violation of a rule earns a certain number of points. At the end of the inspection, the inspector totals the points, and this number is the restaurant's inspection score—the lower the score, the better. Scores are converted to grades A, B or C.
The information provided is well-organized and just enough. All I want from this app were the graded and ungraded score reports and reasons, and this app gives you just that without overwhelming you with everything else like ratings and maps with which to play the guessing game of "which restaurant am I clicking on".
This is the best app in New York it's really fast and easy because you just click current location and it gives you the nearest restaurant to your house me personally I did not know the the restaurant across from my house had no washing facilities and this afternoon I was able to choose the best Chinese food restaurant.I wonder who was the person that did this app???
Essential for New Yorkers
This app has saved me many times from getting a gross bite to eat. Just because they have an A doesn't mean they don't have a mouse problem. This app gives you all the important details. If you live in New York or are visiting, download this right away.
