A MUST if you love British TV

I have never written a review for an app before. After streaming some British detective series on Netflix, I googled "the best British detective series", and among the list, each suggestion included the "ways to watch". I saw acornTV as the only means to watch a few of the suggestions, so decided to try the free week. It's so great that I'm keeping my subscription! All the British (and Aussie) shows I could imagine in one place! Absolutely LOVE this app! Wish there were a website, so I could stream from my TV as well as my phone & iPad...or an app I could get for my Samsung smart TV.

ACORN - your app doesn’t work!!!

Don’t you care? I read all the reviews and I’m having exactly the same issue as everyone else. It doesn’t work on Apple TV - user interface just goes in circles - sign in - start trial - frozen screen. Restart. Tried to sign up outside iTunes from your web site and then log in. Still doesn’t work- keeps offering me a new 30 day trial but that ends with frozen screen too.

iPad app gets further but then fails with “Resource not available”.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ACORN - their apps do not work and you will be stuck in billing hell. Read the other 1 Star reviews - they are accurate.

So long, Acorn!

Tried to renew again tonight. And AGAIN the app doesn't recognize my iTunes subscription. Pitiful. If this isn't resolved tomorrow, I won't ever renew my subscription. It'll be BritBox instead.

**No response to customer service contact. Last time I'll try Acorn.

The new version of the app is simply awful. You can't tell which episode you just watched. You can't even tell if you've watched any of them. Every time you start a new episode, it asks if you wan to resume or start from the beginning. Then, when the episode ends, it just sits there, doesn't return to the episode listing or continue or to the next episode. It just sits there with a dark screen using up battery doing nothing.

Most frustrating if all, when watching on my phone, I have to turn the ringer on to get sound. Every other app on my phone that uses sounds plays with the ringer off, but no, Acorn has to be different b
