Totally works as advertised, awesome!
I went to the theater June 21, 2017 and saw Cars Three, which was great; Cruz Ramirez rocks! I got the descriptive headphones from the information desk just in case, but the app definitely worked because I was able to listen to the audio description on my iPhone seven. I kind of alternated between the two, but I don't think anyone noticed, it's not like we are recording the movie, we are just using our iPhones to enjoy the audio descriptive track. I really hope they put more movies into the app, so when the audio description doesn't work on the headphones provided by the theater, we don't have to worry.
Let’s go to the movies!
My wife is totally blind and this app is a godsend! We live in Vermont and many (well most really) theaters don’t offer AD. This limits where we can see movies. And even if the theater offers AD often the headphones don’t work right or they are tuned to the wrong movie and we ALWAYS have to wait while someone goes and tries to find the headphones. With actiview we buy our ticket and just walk into the theater and when the movie starts my wife opens the app and the AD is right there! AD opened up movies to my wife again, actiview opens up WHERE we can see movies again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Audio description at your fingertips
I have low vision but haven’t used audio description much in the past because I can generally see most of what’s playing on screen by sitting up front in the theater or closer to the TV at home. Now, however, I love having this option available because it definitely fills in a lot of the visual details that I otherwise might miss. I just used Actiview for “Incredibles 2” and was very pleased. I’ll be using it whenever possible now and hope they’ll be able to expand their selection of titles.
