VPN misuse for profit
The unfortunate thing about this app is that it is using the [VPN] function of the phone but not acting as a VPN for ANY/all your traffic. An https proxy would work just as fine with an actual VPN that encrypts your traffic over insecure wifi hotspots – this thing doesn't seem to say it's encrypting or making anything 'private.' Apple should ban this sort of dilution. But in AdBlock's case, you need an app to 'see' other apps on users' phones and to take other information off phones as outlined in their privacy policy that they will record to sell/aggregate. Most folks who are aware of adblock but not used to the benefits of a VPN will think they're surfing safely bc they see the VPN 'thingy' up there.
I have been using my VPN and inserting ghostery's https proxy (or using the ghostery browser) & it has worked wonders. Use FoolDNS over wifi to block everything & more too.
...rant but it would be great if apple would allow me to use my own DNS or proxy over cellular then I could do things more simply.

Other apps actually charge money to get adfree but this really works, I have had it for a month and have saved 2gb's of data, that is a whole month's worth for me in data, it can be a little irritable because since it goes through a proxy server there is a gap in the connection such as clash of clans when your playing and you hit the gap it diconnects you, if you wish for this to stop happening simply go into settings, press general, press profiles, press the info on Adblock, and turn off "connect on demand" however don't leave this off because whenever you open an app close one or turn on and off your phone it turns off Adblock so enjoy all of the extra data!
Not Impressed.
Privacy, connectivity, irritation, etc. These are just some of the issues. I'm giving this app a 2 star mainly because i bet you could probably find a better app than this. As sobs people have mentioned, privacy is a big concern although i don't really care for that. I have found that my internet connection was very slow when using this as opposed to without it (cellular). It's very annoying, some websites block ad block meaning you need to turn this off to continue, but you can't, or rather it's difficult/ annoying to do so. Some apps/ games actually disconnect when i actually use this app, like clash of clans (i've been disconnected in the middle of 4 raids now, i need to delete the profile and app just to raid), world of tanks blitz, etc. This app is terrible and although it does get rid of most ads it simply isn't worth it.
