Adela's Starry Sea (resist bulimia by talking)

By Thousand Lotus

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

Adela is the name of the App's product manager, who was used to suffering by bulimia.
You are like the old version of Adela, who had been tortured by being on a diet, bulimia and on purpose vomiting.
She was too scared to tell her family, neither her friends. She was all alone by herself during those dark days. But now, she is doing great!
She knows how much you want to talk with someone, and how hard it will be.
So, here, she brought you Starry Sea, and she hopes that you could have your very own place to share all the worries and burdens that you have.

Good concept, but very triggering execution

This is an interesting concept, it could have had the potential to be really beneficial, however, as someone else mentioned, the developers are unnecessarily specific about their own weight which is often extremely triggering for people with eating disorders. The other apps by the same developer are also encouraging a very eating disordered mentality about weight loss and meal plans.

In addition, the typos really are irritating. It's not just a few screens, it's practically all of them. It's a shame because I can tell a lot of work did go into creating it, and it is a good concept in theory.

I think the RecoveryRecord app would would be more beneficial for both getting encouragement and helping with meals and as an outlet for struggles.

Terrible App

The affirmations Adela gives at the end are full of typos, disorganized, and frankly bizarre. If you tap the information tab and read her story, she lists her weights throughout her disorders, which is triggering to people with eating disorders. The Other App tab has two weight loss apps, which is, again, triggering. If they wanted to create a safe place for people with eating disorders, they HAVE NOT done it. It's a stupid and triggering app. Don't waste your time!

Insightfully special

A delicately welcoming tool for those who need support but may not know where to turn. Brilliant! It's the best ap I own. I turn to when needed and it helps...
