The myOptions app – formerly called Admittedly – is the most comprehensive college planning app that not only matches you to ideal colleges and universities, but also helps improve your chances of acceptance and completion with personalized advisory content based on your grade level.
College Match - The new College Matching feature helps you find schools based on your interests, passions, and goals. You’ll fill out a brief survey indicating either your school preferences or your deal breakers – i.e. things you’re NOT looking for in a school - and we’ll match you with schools that are the best match for you.
Your Schools - You’ll be able to sort through your list of schools and hide the schools you’re not interested in and save the schools you love to create a customized list, which you can share with your parents, college counselors, mentors, and friends (or just keep for yourself)!
Your Chances – We know that deciding where to apply has a lot to do with how likely you are to get accepted, but we also want YOU to know that there are a ton of elements that factor in to your likelihood of admissions. We won’t give you an exact percentage, but we will categorize every school on your match list into the Stratosphere, Reach, Target, Safer, and Safest categories so you have a better idea of your chances of admission.
School Search – We’ve added several new data points for each of the colleges and universities in our app to help you make the best decision possible. You’ll now be able to search for majors, percent of students graduating, percent of students returning for their sophomore year, percent of students who go on to grad school, as well as more details about school diversity and cost.
Personality Quizzes – We know that navigating the college search process can be daunting and you might not actually know what it is you’re looking for in a college yet. We’ve designed personality quizzes with a PhD in personality psychology to help you determine the right features for you. Want to know whether you’d do better at a big school or a small school or whether an urban or suburban environment is better? Our quizzes will do just that.
Improve Your Chances – You’ll be able to access our extensive assortment of over 500 pieces advisory content ranging from how to fill out the FAFSA to what not to write your college essay about, all written by former admissions officers and college advisors.
Student Spotlights – You’ll get an inside peek into what it’s really like to be a student at your dream school with our student spotlight features written by current college and university students on a variety of campuses.
Thanks for using the myOptions app! Within our new release, we squashed some bugs, enhanced a few things, and tweaked some of our designs...just for you! Within your preference profile, you can now select options you're NOT looking for in a college (in addition to what you ARE looking for), which allows us to provide even better college matches for you. We will also begin sending interactive push notifications with relevant information such as deadlines and reminders that direct you to helpful content in our app. Also, the bug that was causing you to have to log in each time you launched the app is gone for good. Phenomenal tool for peeps on the college search!
This is a fantastic way for high schoolers, transfer students, and otherwise prospective college students to find all the information they need to decide what colleges are for them. It gives you the ability to take quizzes, read about advice from past students that went through the same process, and it offers a plethora of information on each campus that may interest you. Use it!!
Not what I thought
I thought this app would help me keep track of colleges and help me REALLY dig deep about finding the perfect college but it's just a personality quiz app. You take these stupid quizzes that really don't have anything to do with finding a college. The app doesn't even ask what you plan to major in so how can it pick the right colleges for you if they only want to know what your "stereotype" is or if you're a hipster or party-animal. Plus their results or totally BS. They said I loved the 60s but I'm definitely a 90s child. This app didn't help me at all. I deleted it after the first day 😒😒😒
Hi! Thanks so much for writing in - we're so sorry to hear about your experience. We've actually made a ton of changes recently and have added a lot of new features to the app - including the ability to create a full preference profile where you can indicate exactly what you're looking for in a college (i.e. majors, location, weather, degree type, etc) and what you're looking to avoid (i.e. I never want to go to a massive school). The personality quizzes are still there to allow you to discover elements about yourself and we've tweaked them so you might get better results. We also added a full advice section that has over 400 articles on everything from how many times to take the SAT or ACT to what not to write your college essays about. We do hope you'll give it another shot!
I had no clue where I wanted to go to college or how to go about picking. But my parents said I need to go and I'd better decide quickly. A friend told me about this app and after taking a bunch of the surveys, I finally have some ideas of where to apply. Feeling much more confident now!
