Unfortunate interface

This app could - and should - be so much better if the Adobe engineers didn't repeat the mistake they've made for years: trying to create their own interface when common OS components are available.

For instance, when I want to load a photo from my iPad photo library, I'd expect to see the same interface that I've seen from every other app. But, no. Instead, Adobe has created this horrific folder interface - where the folders combine the albums that I have on my iPad with the ones that I have in iTunes on my home computer. The albums are in no known order and can't be reordered ... and it's missing the Favorites album! But I went back to my Photos app and identified the date that the pic was taken in 2012 and then access All Photos in the PS app. Unfortunately, scrolling through that folder is insanely, insanely slow. One line of photos at a time. It would take me over an hour to access 2012 photos at that rate. Why no breakdown, like the Photos app has, allowing me to access a year and month quickly? It's a very clunky interface.

This continues in the actual editing interface - good luck figuring out what tools are where. If you learn it once and don't use it for awhile, have fun finding it again. Nothing makes any sense. Oh, and the app crashes a LOT. Other high end iPad photo editing apps leave PS Touch in the dust. I was so, SO hoping for more.

Loosing my Love for this App

I've used this Photoshop Touch App on my iPad for at least 3yrs. However, within the past 5 months or so I've been having issues with the app being "buggy". I don't know if it's the app itself or the combination with it & iOS 8.3 (my iPad is the 4th gen.). At first, the only "bug" I was having with the app was when I use the text feature within the application itself, the typing field would expand horizontally & all the other features within the text box (font choices, etc) would disappear. And then today, I was using the app, the exact same thing happened with the text feature. So I would exit out of the app, close the app and reopen it like usual. However, this time when I reopen the app, it tries to load my previous project but gets stuck within the loading process. So, I exit out of the app, close the app and this time I restart my iPad. After my iPad is back up, I reopen the Photoshop Touch App and the very same thing happens again! Very annoying & I am finding it pointless to use! Adobe, step up and fix these issues, please!

Photoshop... the most advanced photo editing tool!

Just like the original Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Touch is the most advanced app for editing photos on the go. Though it’s no competitor for the desktop version, it’s still a powerful app based on the solid core of Photoshop with basic photo editing tools, filters and effects, and it supports layers and blending modes.

PS Touch lets you crop and resize images, adjust exposure and saturation, and even extract an object from its background. The workspace is designed well with a luxurious amount of screen real estate. The undo/redo buttons are conveniently located and the touchscreen gestures make precise adjustments easier.

Though there are some missing features and some tools (such as the effects brush and the text tool) need refinement, Adobe has done a good job of bringing the best photo editing tool to mobile users. It’s definitely just the starting point, and I’m sure we’ll see vast improvements and new features in future updates.

There are some useful tutorials there, but no need to mention that Photoshop Touch is not for everyone. Photoshop users will need to have it as part of their editing toolset, but others may want to look for something easier and more intuitive for mobile editing for social networking. For me, it’s a must-have tool and combined with Pixelmator, I can easily organize and edit my photos on my iPad.
