Adobe Photoshop Sketch — Expressive painting and sketching with realistic tools

By Adobe

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Create expressive drawings and paintings without opening a sketchbook. Your artwork can be sent as layered PSD files to Adobe Photoshop CC or resized up to 4x in Illustrator CC to print high-resolution copies.

Thirteen tools — each with adjustable size, color, opacity and blending — produce the rich results you want. Includes a graphite pencil, an ink pen, markers and watercolor paintbrushes*.

Organize your favorite tools and colors in the toolbar, and place it on the right- or left-hand side.

Grids make it easy to align elements in your drawings and create life-like perspective.

Draw with precision and control using pressure-sensitive pens including Adobe Ink, Pencil by 53 and styluses from Adonit and Wacom.

Use the integrated Touch Slide to draw straight lines, circles, squares, triangles and French curves. It doubles as a placement tool — select shape stencils from an in-app menu. Pinch to scale. Trace the outline or double tap to stamp.

Import images to reference while you draw or to composite into a collage. Images can be placed on top of or behind your sketches.

High-res, royalty-free images from Adobe Stock are searchable from inside the app. Incorporate licensed images into your work.

Get easy in-app access to your assets — including Adobe Stock images and brushes created in Capture CC.

Send a file to Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC. It automatically opens on your desktop, letting you effortlessly build on your idea. Files sent to Photoshop open as layered PSD files. Artwork sent to Illustrator can be resized up to 4x to print high-resolution copies.

Adobe CreativeSync ensures that your files, fonts, design assets, settings and more all instantly appear in your workflow wherever you need them. Start your creative work on any device and seamlessly pick it up on another.

Publish your work to the Behance creative community and get feedback without leaving the app. You can also share through Facebook, Twitter and email.

Solid Sketch App

This is a great, free app for those who already have their roots in Adobe's ecosystem. Useful, but limited. Layers? Mmm not so much. Zooming is also limited. It is pixel based as well. Incorperates well into the other apps, all of which carry over to the full suites on desktop fairly nicely. But now I have to say that Adobe is at it again with a new iteration of what used to all be in one app (its almost the opposite of what their doing to photoshop, which is far too bloated for my tastes). Don't disregard that as cynicism. I've always appreciated Adobe's offerings. Both on on desktop and tablet, but I feel like they just keep shuffling features around into different "new" apps. Put simply, Adobe has had better versions of "sketching capable" apps, but they're not support them anymore. Free is nice but Sketch is just a little too limted for my tastes. You wont be blown away, but you shouldn't be disappointed either... I mean it's free and of good quality, but there are WAY better apps for the doodly inclined.

Pluses and minuses: Adobe, please elp me to give more stars.

Of all drawing apps, this app has the best response for the iPad Pro's Apple Pencil (in the graphite pencil tool: 5stars). It feels really great and more like sketching than any app I've used.
I use it a lot for sketching ideas. Only Procreate competes with it in pencil tool, but many of the other drawing tools have this strange and unnatural flow (1-2 stars). I would prefer the tool to follow more of my work flow. I hope they change it in future updates.
Adobe can you please add a real layers function that would really improve this app. This current layers is an import function that is very limited.
****Note...Many of us would pay a "much higher price" for an app with truer photoshop feel. It would be awesome if workable version allowed us to transfer back and forth from creative cloud true PSD files.
Overall this is the best in pencil mode I've tried yet. Please, please, please, Adobe, many of us have hopes for a future with a more full featured photoshop app.

Excellent, but small improvements could make it better!

This app is truly fantastic! Really, there are only two things I can think of that I would like to ask the Adobe team to incorporate. The first, is that I think it would be really useful if there is a redo button. I frequently undo an action and sometimes hit the button more than once, so a redo option would definitely help with those types of mistakes. I would also like the ability to rotate the canvas any direction that I like by using two fingers to rotate. There are plenty of other creative apps that have this function, and I find it very useful so that I do not have to continue to turn my iPad around. Otherwise, this is a fantastic app… Particularly if you have an Adobe Creative Cloud membership so that you can save files.
