Poor UI and unreadable graphs
I finally received my energy bridge and got it to bond with my smart meter. The device has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the app is underwhelming.
The main feature of this app would seem to be viewing your instantaneous and previous energy usage. However, the UI for viewing energy usage is not very functional and difficult to use. 1) The radial/circular graph for showing hour by hour usage is very difficult to read. It might look flashy but it’s actually a terrible way to display the data. There is no scale and you cannot see how much is used for a given hour unless you can carefully “spin the dial” to 12’oclock. Of course to spin the dial you have to put your finger on it and when you finally can align the dial, your finger ends up covering the isplay. If you remove your finger to look the dial snaps back! Just give us a normal horizontal line chart with marked scales. 2) The day by day chart would seem more close to useable but unfortunately I can’t figure out how to scroll it to the previous month. Instead of scrolling you can only go page by page between months. So if you are at the beginning of a month it is impossible to compare your usage with the previous 7 days. You have to flip back and forth.
Please redesign the energy usage UI and graphs! And please open up the data so that we can download our usage.

Hello, vqv. We appreciate your feedback and fully understand your concerns. We have plans to directly address the issues you mentioned with new features which will provide a deeper and more analytical view of your energy consumption. We try and strike a good balance between users who want a lot of data with heavy statistics and folks who want their energy consumption to be more visual. We are planning to add additional functionality to give folks like yourself more opportunities to get more deeply engaged with your energy consumption.
Had a problem where the bridge would not link to the meter, but had connection to the internet. A single phone call later and AEP was able to remote to the bridge/meter settings and make the link. Many of the “challenges” do not show checked off even after the challenge task is completed.
Real time monitoring is a real eye opener of what is drawing the most energy and what you can cut back on.
Only wish... to have a setting for the statistics to match your billing cycle, and not just resetting on the 1st of each month.
App does not work with T-Mobile
Great App when using with WiFi. Unable to connect to energy bridge when away from home on LTE. App does not work properly when connected to T-Mobile LTE service. Works fine when connected to WiFi but as soon as you disconnect from WiFi the app is unable to connect with the energy bridge over LTE. This limits the usage of the app while away from home. Issue has been reported to tech support but still no resolution.
