Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei) in the early 20th century. As the physical practice of philosophical principles developed by O-Sensei, Aikido strives for the ultimate goal of peaceful resolution rather than defeat. Composed of three Japanese characters: Ai, meaning harmony; Ki, spirit or energy; and Do, the path or the way, the word Aikido thus signifies the "Way of Unifying Life Energy". In this regard, O-Sensei created a martial art in which the preservation of one’s attacker is equally important as one’s own self defense.

HOW CAN I GET THE UPGRADED VERSION -- GREAT APP!!
One of the best app out there on understanding Aikido and the mechanics of the techniques...the photos are very clear , step by step to assist in understanding what is exactly happening with Uke and Nage
Aikido is a very intelligent and specialized martial art requiring detailed knowledge of the physical forces of the body and which directions a joint, arm, and hand can move and not move to control blend and then be in control of the direction of your opponent by using his force against him through using his own strength of momentum against him.. The psychological aspects and philosophical underpinnings of the art are very powerful.
Best of all it's free
Great additional training/ graphic manual
I have found several of the descriptions for techniques in this application helpful as a quick reference while studying Aikido in between classes at my dojo. It was helpful for my most resent belt evaluation.
