Airband, a work in progress?
Great concept, poor execution. If it wasn't for the great concept, I would give it 1 star. When Airband works as it supposed to, it's a pleasure but as already reviewed by others, Airband is unstable. I've been trying to use Airband to listen to radio discussion, documentaries and humor, so for me the real frustration is that it doesn't remember where I left off (either after one of its all too frequent crashes or after quitting the program intentionally). What makes this even more irritating is that the slide bar doesn't work; it's ONLY a progress bar that only shows where you are on a track. There is no fast forward or back. It only looks likes a slider that you can drag, but you can't. I often have to listen to most of a track again in order to get back to where I was listening. So 3 things I hope the Airband team will correct soon are: stability, auto return to where Airband was last playing, and a true slider that you can drag to where you want to start listening on a track!
No fast forward/search within tracks. If you bump Back when you mean to pause, tough luck you have to listen to track from start again or not at all. Can't delete recordings. If this app is meant to be mobile version of the parent site's useful functionality, it misses the mark badly. Had high hopes for this as preferable to podcast since I could access without wifi on the go, but lacks too much basic functionality.
It's FREE, stop complaining...
... as if you paid $50 for this app. If it doesn't do everything you want, write your own app or stop whining! That's the problem with Apple boasting a zillion apps. Yes they have the most, but they're not all stellar... Move on!
