Updated: Great app with lots of BIG problems

Updating my January 2017 Review...

Over the last 2-3 months Airmail on iOS has become virtually unusable because syncing across devices has become terribly unreliable. It can take 3-4 minutes for the app to load an inbox. After deleing or archiving several messages, a few minutes later those message will return. I can look at the inboxes on iPhone, iPad, and Mac side-by-side and see three different lists of messages and three different messages counts.

Like many other reviewers, I've had to stop using Airmail on iOS. I hope they can fix these problems soon, because I'd love to use it again.

Previous review:

I really like Airmail's concept, interface, and rapid development. But I'm also afraid they've taken on too much too quickly. There are lots of little things that pop-up and then come and go in various updates.

For example, the latest update has broken the new Asana integration. Another example, while the snooze feature is awesome, it's not consistent across devices. Messages snoozed on Mac often remain in the inbox on iOS, or vice versa. If you batch delete several messages on iOS, you have a 50% chance that those messages return the inbox in a few minutes or never be deleted from the Mac app.

I'm happy to pay for this app and would be happy to pay more if they could spend some time polishing it. Get the current features working 100% before adding anything new.

Updated Review: Not Great After Extensive Use

Updated review. It had much promise, but too many bugs have flown out since using it extensively for some time. I have to downgrade my review significantly. Here are the three biggest issues that have taken away from my experience:

-- offline use isn't seamless; when sending on a plane without wifi, for example, I get connection errors -- why not support offline use more smoothly? Once reconnected, it wasn't clear when/if Airmail would then send out of my oubox (a-la classic email clients, like Outlook)... it did eventually... so no major mishap, but not great from a usability perspective.

-- syncing across devices goes out of alignment, often inconsistent # of emails in inbox, etc. Why do I have 21 emails on iPad and iPhone but 17 on Mac? Doesn't appear to be rules I've created on each device... I don't feel like resetting the Gmail IMAP yet again to get them to align...

-- Various minor bugs: Draft saved when doing quick response does not include prior email material (forcing me to delete quick-response draft, then restarting); carriage returns in email view may differ sometimes showing 2 vs. 1 carriage returns; cannot do reply-all quick response; when I say "next week" on Monday at 7am to snooze, Airmail thinks I mean that very Monday at 8am and emails pop back... and more...

Good, but not on multiple devices

When I first got Airmail on my iMac, I loved it. It's powerful, quick, organized and works well with other accounts. I read that they had an iPad app as well, and that it syncs will with other devices...not so much. I installed it on my iPad Mini 4, and noticed right away, that email that I deleted on one device, were still on the other. That's just a lot of unnecessary repetition. Their tech support said to empty the cache, which I've done a couple times now...doesn't help. If I'd known is be doing double the work on my devices, I wouldn't have paid for the apps. UPDATE - I came back going the updates would have fixed the problems. Right away I noticed the problem was still there. After many ridiculous back and forth messages, they came back with 'Gmail syncs, POP3 doesn't'. This is a common feature on other apps, don't know why they can't do it.
