Inaccurate readings, frustrating customer service

I have two Airthing Wave devices sitting side by side for over 4 months. They both give different radon readings, sometimes one Red, the other Green. I have been working with Joshwin in customer service for over 3 months. He routinely takes weeks to respond to me, and keeps deflecting by stating that I bought the devices at different times(why does that matter), or that I should read the customer service articles(which I did), or that my app is not updated(yes it is), or outright disputing the readings on my devices…I have sent him multiple screenshots of the readings on my devices. I make my decisions to use my basement gym based on my Airthing readings, and I haven’t gotten any satisfaction whatsoever from Joshwin. This is so incredibly frustrating, and disappointing for a company that seemed so cutting edge and technologically savvy. At this point I feel like I wasted hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the Airthing Wave devices, and ironically I would never have known that they are malfunctioning or not calibrated had I not purchased two of them and put them side by side. I do not recommend wasting your money on this device if there is no certainty that the radon readings are correct. And further, customer service is terrible.

Worth every penny and then some!!!

A neighbor in my condo association notified me that he discovered extremely high radon levels while in the process of selling his condo. Concerned, I purchased the Airthings Wave Plus and installed it in the center of my lowest level. The radon level read 0.4 at first but then climbed to nearly 9 within a day. After monitoring for about a month, I noticed that the radon would fluctuate anywhere from about 4 to 8+ with a monthly average of 5.9. I had an active mitigation system installed and later that day, my level had dropped to 0.8 and it has remained there ever since. I’m extremely happy with this product and I’m urging my family, friends and clients to purchase one. It was very simple to set up and I love the different readouts that it gives me. The build quality of the device and app are perfect. It was even a fun unboxing experience similar to opening an Apple or Nest product. I also have a Nest thermostat as well which only tells me the temperature and humidity levels however, both devices read the exact same which leads me to believe that they are extremely accurate. The TVOC and CO2 readouts are helpful as well. Whenever those levels are high, simply opening a few windows to let in fresh air allows them to drop and keeps the air in my home healthy for my family. The color ring indicators on both the device and app are really helpful as well. This device is worth every penny and then some!!!

More Important Than You Think.

Great device that has given me peace of mind! I’ve used this for a year and half now and it’s been a fantastic way to monitor the radon, humidity and temperature in our basement. I would highly recommend this to everyone!
- It’s more important than you think. Radon is a silent killer and undetectable without proper sensors.

How I learned about radon:
One day my dad was talking to me about radon and the low levels they have at their house. At the time I never heard of radon and after a little research I’ve realized how dangerous it can be. It’s worse then being a smoker depending on the levels. Quickly I asked to borrow his tester. Within 24-48 hours the little white box I plugged into our basement was reading 4.7 pCi/L. Various online sources say anything over 4 pCi/L you should take action and that 2 pCi/L or less is ideal. I don’t believe you can completely eliminate the radioactive gas, but lowering the level as much as possible is key. After more research we ended up replacing the old French drain system and sealing up the walls with vapor barriers in our basement. We also invested in this modern sensor “Wave” to easily be able to monitor and track our levels. When all is said and done, our levels have dramatically decreased down to 1.8 at the highest to .5 at the lowest depending on time of year. I could not be happier with the device and the app. Thank you for creating this wonderful sensor and putting our worries behind us.
