Aki Mahjong was designed specifically for your iPad, allowing you to enjoy Mahjong Solitaire anywhere.

Combining the ancient Chinese game of Mahjong with an enchanting journey across Japan, Aki is easy to learn even if you still haven't mastered chopsticks, so don't hesitate to dive right in.

The principle is simple: you have a number of ivory tiles arranged on a beautiful Japanese backdrop. Your goal is to make all of the tiles disappear by matching them to similar tiles.

Aki is a casual game you can pick up and play whenever you want, yet dismiss quickly to surf the web or send a message. When you're ready to resume, tap the Aki icon and you're back where you left off!

Made to be played

Bull Winkus

Mahjong is a tireless Asian classic. You simply find the matching tiles to have them removed from the board. Rinse & repeat until done. If there are no matches, the game will shuffle the tiles. It really is that ... Err. ... Simple? Hmmm... Simple it's not. As anyone who has played Mahjong before can tell you, there are a lot of different tiles to match. There's the bamboos, the scripts or scratches and the odd bits like the blanks. Then there's the flowers, which look different but match, and the seasons.

Matching tiles in this case is a simple exercise that builds brain muscle. You'll soon find that it flows much faster if you turn off your aggressive mind and let your sub conscience do the heavy lifting.

If you enjoy a game for its elegance and simplicity, then you shouldn't regret this purchase. Besides, it'll pass the time in the waiting room without your feeling bored in the process.

Fun, entertaining

I enjoy this game. Good, mindless entertainment. If there were any changes - which seems unlikely, since aside from porting it over to the iPad it hasn't changed in years - I would suggest the option to have a visible timer available, and I'd like to be able to see the scores in the bonus layouts. Also, the computer version had an option to deign your own layouts - tat out be fun too!

This game is annoying. The games should be winnable. Most of them are not. Even if you are smart and careful, you will come to a point where you must reshuffle. Often after doing so, there is only one move, or sometimes two, before another shuffle is required. This stops the flow of the game and takes the enjoyment out of it. It is beautiful, and the background pictures are pleasant to look at. But that doesn't matter if the game isn't fun to play!
