Akina, a calming generative art experience for iPad.
"Some people like to make of life a garden, and to walk only within its paths. Others travel among the wildflowers."
- Japanese Proverb
USE NOTES: Tap the lower portion of the screen to grow flowers. Tap and on the upper portion of the screen to show the controller then one of the flower icons displayed on the controller to select it. Tap the gear icon on the controller to adjust settings. Tap the camera icon in the upper right to save a snapshot to your Photos app.
Designed by DINO, the unique, textless interface encourages you to explore composition through the organic growth of wildflowers. With just five different plants to cultivate, you can create surprisingly organic and complex illustrations. Experiment with simple settings to discover how size and fading affect the growth of the flowers and can lead to amazingly different compositions.
When you are feeling stress, take a moment to travel through Akina and let the soothing act of creation calm your spirit.
* Try gently drumming your fingers across the field to create bushes of flowers.
* Mix your flowers.
* Wildflowers can't be forced - they can only be encouraged to grow a certain way.
* Try using longer fade periods and layering differently sized plants.
* Use the iPad's screenshot mechanism to capture your compositions for use as background images.

Why has this app been abandoned??
I love this app and would gladly pay for it. I played it on someone else's iPad before I got my own and now that I do have my own it was one of the first apps I downloaded--I remembered it for many months and couldn't wait to have it on my own device! Sadly, although the app is still in the app store, it seems to have been abandoned now, which is really too bad. The graphics are beautiful, the one-touch picture ability is great for saving creations, and the music is really lovely. It's delicious eye candy! This app has so much potential for updates--please update it!
One of a Kind
In looking for a game to create a garden, I happened upon this gem. If the creators of this app read the reviews, please do not abandon this garden.
Your concept and artwork are exquisite. The music is calming and although I got a black screen when I tried to save my creation, my iPad's camera worked just fine.
I hope you are sharing your work in some venue, if not this one.
Very soothing and gratifying experience
Never thought I'd write a review, but this is such an artistic exploration and special type of experience that it makes yo literally get lost in it's garden.
What a lovely walk, now, how soon before we see additional themes?
