Don't care for the new format....

Maybe I'm getting old, but why fix what isn't broken. I don't care for the new format, no good for viewing an iPad with no landscape view. The sidebar navigation doesn't work near as well for me as the top pulldown menus.

Whoever designed this new layout must have liked the eye appeal but they certainly didn't try to navigate to find specific news-alot more difficult to find a specific area of interest. Won't be using the app. Looking elsewhere for my news as an expat Alabamian.....

Pass on this app!

You are better off to use the mobile version of the website than this app. They have changed the look of the app recently and it is a complete joke. Of course, this is par for the course with the direction that this "media group" is taking the local and state news. I cancelled the newspaper after it was apparent that it was a joke, and I've uninstalled this app after it became apparent that they can't get that right either.

Not a good update

I need a landscape view - why is this app stuck in portrait view? I'm on an iPad here, not reading the newspaper. Navigation isn't better than before. Please get some quality mobile UX advice before football season - preferably long before then.
