What's New in Version 3.8.4
• Minor enhancements / fixes
I see my other review is gone. Hmmm. Tell the truth and they silence you... ok.
Today I ask, what part of silent DON'T you understand? Arming the system with the app and checking silent gets me 3 loud DOORS AND WINDOWS ON NO ENTRY DELAY. Not very silent to me. If I arm from the panel I just get some beeps.
Now to RE-highlight my past experiences. In a nutshell... the app doesn't always communicate. The system can be armed YOU THINK and it's not. A garage door can say it's down and it isn't. Whether this is a cellular service problem or the app I don't care. I need to know what the system is doing and have it be 100% accurate. On more than one occasion I have literally stood outside for 20 mins waiting for disarm (yes I know I am a moron.) to show on the app only to run inside to the panel to see no, it's really not armed. Or turned around at the end of my driveway and gone back because the app says a door is open and it isn't.
I'll admit the majority of the time it works, but is that good enough? Would a space shuttle that works the majority of the time be acceptable? This is a security device. Protecting people and property not to mention the money every month. It needs to work. It needs to be accurate. It needs to deliver. I can't say it always does.
The door locking feature doesn't work consistently nor does it display correct status
The app works well about 75% of the time. However, the rest of the time I have trouble with the front door lock. It will not always work to lock or unlock the door. It also often says that it unlocked when I'm standing in front of it and can see it's locked. In addition, I can set the away feature with everything working properly, and when I am at work it shows that my front door is unlocked. When I get home I see that it is still locked but seeing that unlocked message is still unnerving.
Please fix this bug!
Too slow. Clunky software
I bought this service and once installed had erratic connection issues. After an update app opened more regularly when needed. However, the app requires too many clicks I order to be effective. Specifically, on emotion detected or doorbell activates the app, you have then open the app, enter passcode, and wait for app to connect to home network. By that time the person is gone from view (or in worst case scenario, has entered your home!).
This process needs to be quicker to be effective. For example, why not open the app and connected for viewing without having to read the notification and the click on app to enter passcode. Could be done instantly if properly engineered.
