- When alarm starts ringing, you will have to go to the registered place and take a picture.
e.g.) If bathroom is the registered place, wake up and take a picture of the bathroom.
- good place to register : bathroom sink, front door, shelf, desk, specific object, far from bed
- bad place to register : brightness changes frequently, close to your bed, cealing, floor
- If the currently registered alarm picture is too easy or too difficult to turn off, please register a new place :)
Alarmy (Sleep If U Can) is the innovative solution for those who just can’t seem to get up on time, even with an alarm clock. This app has been cleverly designed to force you to get out of bed. You set it up by registering a photo of an area or room in your house. Then once the alarm is set, the ONLY way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area.
The World’s Most Annoying Alarm
Dubbed as “the world’s most annoying alarm”, Alarmy has quickly become a favorite mobile app among users. It has been featured in Gizmodo, Cnet, and at Huffington Post, and is currently Number One in its category in 70 countries, including France, Germany, and South Korea.
Users are truly enjoying this app and many have devised their own unique methods around the alarm’s requirements. For instance, you could register the foot of the bed as your location, then you would only need to wake up enough to take a pic of the foot of your bed and then go right back to sleep. Of course, this totally circumvents the whole purpose of the app but has become a fun pastime for many users.
Works Better Than Other Alarm Clocks
Other creative locations that users have come up with include the ceiling of their room, a nightstand, or the floor. If you’re more serious about really getting up on time, then how about registering the bathroom sink or an item in the kitchen?
Though the app has sparked lots of interest and has proven to be really entertaining, it will definitely get you out of bed. If you absolutely MUST get up on time for an important appointment or job interview, then this would be the perfect solution.

Takes a Routine
I had a tough time getting this to work at first but the company actually responded to my first review with tips. Basically I have to open the app before going to bed, and I check then that the phone isn’t silent or do-not-disturb mode. With those 3 things done the night before, this app works every time. I was having trouble before with the alarm not going off because I didn’t open the app before going to sleep. If you can handle the nightly routine this app is great and it really has gotten me up every morning no matter how tired I feel.
I wish the nightly routine instructions were spelled out more clearly at the start so there wouldn’t be so much confusion for the first couple weeks. I also wish there was a way to disable the news feed / weather screen that pops up after you turn off the alarm bc it’s annoying to close each time.
Queen of Snooze, Dethroned
It is no exaggeration to say I was the queen of the snooze button. My alarm was across the room, at least 8 paces away, yet I would still hit snooze, crawl back in bed, fall completely asleep, only to be woken again 10 minutes later...and proceed to repeat this process 6, 7, sometimes 10 more times in a given morning. I had a problem.
Enter Alarmy. I have attempted to out smart this thing in the delirium of my morning brain. I have tried exiting the app, blindly hitting the snooze button every 30 seconds, loudly cursing hoping it would shut off in fear...ANYTHING to fuel my snooze button addiction. Alas, Alarmy has cured me. And I will admit, I actually feel MORE rested, despite getting up an hour earlier than prior to the app. Thanks, Alarmy, for salvaging my mornings (and my future, hypothetical husband’s sanity)
Does its job
Great app for waking me up in the morning. With the regular alarm clock it’s easy for me to hit snooze and accidentally turn the alarm off. With this app it requires me to answer math problems to turn the alarm off. Gets my mind processing and by time I solve the problems I’m too awake to even fall back asleep. If you’re a hard sleeper and have a hard time with alarms this app is for you. The night time relaxing sounds are great to listen to before bed. Just pick your relaxing sound and set the timer and try and fall asleep. I use this app religiously every single night. Oh, and the alarm sound selection is robust and they are exceptionally annoying. I recommend siren or one of the loud alarms. I like the one that makes me think the world is ending when it goes off.
