■ How to turn off the alarm ? (Picture dismiss mode)
- Register a place where you want to turn off the alarm.
- When alarm starts ringing, you will have to go to the registered place and take a picture.
e.g.) If bathroom is the registered place, wake up and take a picture of the bathroom.
- good place to register : bathroom sink, front door, shelf, desk, specific object, far from bed
- bad place to register : brightness changes frequently, close to your bed, cealing, floor
- If the currently registered alarm picture is too easy or too difficult to turn off, please register a new place :)
Alarmy (Sleep If U Can) is the innovative solution for those who just can’t seem to get up on time, even with an alarm clock. This app has been cleverly designed to force you to get out of bed. You set it up by registering a photo of an area or room in your house. Then once the alarm is set, the ONLY way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area.
The World’s Most Annoying Alarm
Dubbed as “the world’s most annoying alarm”, Alarmy has quickly become a favorite mobile app among users. It has been featured in Gizmodo, Cnet, and at Huffington Post, and is currently Number One in its category in 70 countries, including France, Germany, and South Korea.
Users are truly enjoying this app and many have devised their own unique methods around the alarm’s requirements. For instance, you could register the foot of the bed as your location, then you would only need to wake up enough to take a pic of the foot of your bed and then go right back to sleep. Of course, this totally circumvents the whole purpose of the app but has become a fun pastime for many users.
Works Better Than Other Alarm Clocks
Other creative locations that users have come up with include the ceiling of their room, a nightstand, or the floor. If you’re more serious about really getting up on time, then how about registering the bathroom sink or an item in the kitchen?
Though the app has sparked lots of interest and has proven to be really entertaining, it will definitely get you out of bed. If you absolutely MUST get up on time for an important appointment or job interview, then this would be the perfect solution.
• Alarmy now recommends alarm settings just for you!
• Minor bug fix.
Ratings and Reviews
Things happen, technology is flawed, not specifically for the alarm but maybe also my phone. For the past two years I have used this alarm I’ve done the same routine over and again, every so often it fails to provide a sound and only plays sound after I am late to work and I unlock the phone. That being said, I am in the US Airforce currently and have been for the past 5 years and 10 months. When I found this alarm it was and 99.9% of the time still is a life saver, I did 3 stars because 1 is insanely low and not fair. Seeing as how this app has saved my life but at the same time ruined my reputation, my hypothesis is that I set and alarm with the default apple alarm at around 04:00AM but it sometimes fails to wake me. If I DO NOT manage to wake from that alarm and it is still playing... does that interfere with this alarms ability?? That is my only hypothesis for the event in which it mutes itself and doesn’t make the proper noise. If there is something I am doing wrong which I’m sure is the case, can you please provide me with the solution? Again, it’s more than likely human error so if you (anyone reading) rate this app low it looks bad on them when I am almost sure it’s us. Please be courteous when rating an app that is as trusted and effective as this.——- UPDATE, P.S./ I had just noticed the app needed and update and would that explain the situation in question????
Hi, this is delightroom.
On behalf of Delightroom, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the negative experience that you had with Alarmy. And also sorry for the late answer.
Most common reason for this to happen is 1. removed from the background AND 2. it is in silence mode / Do not disturb mode. It is impossible to implement technically within the iOS policy. Please check the details in More Tab - FAQ. For more accurate diagnosis and quicker resolution, we'd be needing your usage log. Please send us the log via 'Send Feedback' button in our app. Feel free to contact us with any other problems that you might've experienced. Have a nice day!
A different kind of alarm for me
I have a hard time waking to other alarms, no matter how loud or annoying, I just tend to hit “snooze” or turn it off and immediately fall back asleep. I’ve hit the 5 min “snooze” over & over again for up to 90 mins before waking up enough to stay awake. With Alarmy, I have to solve 3 memory puzzles before I can shut the alarm. The easiest one didn’t work for me, and I fell back asleep. The next morning I had it switched to the next level of difficulty and that worked for a while, till I finally had to turn it up to a bit more difficult puzzle. Now, by the time my mind figures these out, I’m solidly awake and can get up without having to use “snooze” button anymore! I’m loving this app and I love the unique ringtone options as well! Just make sure your phone isn’t in the “Do Not Disturb” mode when the alarm is set to go off, because no alarms work during that, except the factory installed one that comes on your phone. Adjust the DND time so that it shuts off before your alarm’s wake up call and you’re good to go!

This will ABSOLUTELY work for you!
I have never been able to get up after the first alarm. I constantly hit the snooze button over and over again. Even when I would try to make the effort I could never follow through. Until I discovered this app (thank you Reddit). Having to think the moment the alarm goes off really works. Taking an action really works. Personally I use the photo option. There's something about having to go into my kitchen and take a picture of my teapot in order to shut off the alarm has really worked for me. Did I mention that this really works? You can't turn off the alarm. It keeps going and going and going. Tricking it won't work either. The only way to shut it up is by doing what it wants you to or deleting the app entirely. By that time you're already wide awake. This thing REALLY WORKS!
* Note to developer: with the new iOS you can turn the alarm off by swiping from the top edge down. :(
