Alarmy (Sleep If U Can) is the innovative solution for those who just can’t seem to get up on time, even with an alarm clock. This app has been cleverly designed to force you to get out of bed. You set it up by registering a photo of an area or room in your house. Then once the alarm is set, the ONLY way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area.
The World’s Most Annoying Alarm
Dubbed as “the world’s most annoying alarm”, Alarmy has quickly become a favorite mobile app among users. It has been featured in Gizmodo, Cnet, and at Huffington Post, and is currently Number One in its category in 70 countries, including France, Germany, and South Korea.
Users are truly enjoying this app and many have devised their own unique methods around the alarm’s requirements. For instance, you could register the foot of the bed as your location, then you would only need to wake up enough to take a pic of the foot of your bed and then go right back to sleep. Of course, this totally circumvents the whole purpose of the app but has become a fun pastime for many users.
Works Better Than Other Alarm Clocks
Other creative locations that users have come up with include the ceiling of their room, a nightstand, or the floor. If you’re more serious about really getting up on time, then how about registering the bathroom sink or an item in the kitchen?
Though the app has sparked lots of interest and has proven to be really entertaining, it will definitely get you out of bed. If you absolutely MUST get up on time for an important appointment or job interview, then this would be the perfect solution.
What's New in Version 3.13.1
- Fix user background issue
- Minor fixes
Only used it one only night so far; worked very well!
I usually don't do reviews but since this app has barely any, I decided to help it out. I have only used it one night, which I understand that I should use it more before I review, but I don't really care. I can always write another one. Getting back to the point, it forced me to get out of bed! During the school year I can get myself up in time to get to school. It's during the summer that I can't get up earlier. I want to be more productive during the day and waking up at 11 doesn't help that. When I wake up early in the summer I feel so drowsy I can't even move my body out of bed. This forces me to walk far away from my bed as possible so I have no chance to fall asleep again. The alarm woke me up well and I was forced to go to the kitchen. If u try to turn down the volume the app will turn it back on. The picture recognition works very well. If u look at some of the negative comments, they are for previous versions. I can tell they have fixed most of the issues in the reviews. So buy this app if u need something to drag you out of bed. It is virtually cheat proof and well worth the 2 bucks;)
Works great when the alarm is audible
Unfortunately, after having this app since the iPhone 4, it now will occasionally vibrate my phone gently to try and wake me. I am a heavy sleeper, so usually I don't notice this at all, or until it is too late. I have not been able to figure out what makes the application do this, but it is about once or twice a month that it happens and it is a huge pain.
Ok, so it seems like application updates may be playing a factor since the app isn't able to fully restart and sink it's fangs into my battery (seriously what the heck is up with the battery murdering??!!) and that's when it just sits there and vibrates. Happened again last week and a couple weeks before.
Can you fix this somehow and tell it to be nice to the battery? It's seriously like the #1 battery hog in my list haha
I love this app because before this I could not wake up early in the morning and too many times I would have to run around just trying to get ready. This app stopped that. I downloaded the app due to the picture idea but there is also a function where you can do math problems to stop the alarm. The one downside is that unless you kill the app after you wake up it will drain a large amount of your battery.
