Album Flow

By Imre Katai

Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.

Description

Album Flow will bring back the Cover Flow feature for your Mac. In iTunes 11, the Cover Flow view is not available anymore, so if you like that view, then this is the perfect app for you.
Album Flow for iOS has been released more than two years ago, and this app is almost the same for your Mac.

Online information
If you are curious about the artist what you are listening to then look to the right side of the screen. You can see the complete discography from Last.fm.

Missing album artwork download
If there is no album artwork in iTunes, then the application downloads the album cover from the internet, based on the album title and artist. So if you have the correct artist and album name in your music information, than there will be no more "no cover" image.

If you have any question or suggestion regarding the application, please don't hesitate to drop a line to metappspress@gmail.com

Customer Reviews

Coverflow is back for iTunes 11 via Album Flow - SUPER!!!

I am so pleased to have found this app. With my mid-2010 MPB core duo-2 it was really a bit slow, until yesterday when I put in a new SSD Drive and now!!! I love sliding along in full screen mode with the album covers "literally larger than life" and the bonus is that I find valuable information about the album / songs. Sure I can imagine some improvement – even faster scrolling but likely that depends on how many albums one has-- I have nearly 500, all with artwork!

Be great to maybe have the choice of sort-order (by album title, by artist, by some other category)--- but don't make this app too complicated, it's magic just as it is!

Thanks so much and looking forward to more apps by this developer as well as possibly some updates here!

Best regards,

Steve Schulte

Great! I need to support this!

Just bought the app. I'll review fully after I upgrade an iTunes on another Mac from v10 to v11, as I refrained from upgrading to 11 to continue enjoying CoverFlow. I hope the developer continues to enhance this to make it even greater than the original implementation. Good luck

I’m a bit puzzled that when I launch the app, the albums displayed are indeed each albums in my iTunes library. However, after some interactions, I see the images displayed are that of relevant album covers for songs that are now not sorted according to albums.

Obvisouly if it was part of the iTunes visualization, it would seem more seamless.

Background configurability would be nice.

Finally, the rate at which the album image flips and slides need to be optimized more. It doesn’t seem as smooth as the original implementation. I hope the developer exceeds the original in his version.

AWFUL

If I could give this a ZERO I would. Why? Let me count the ways:
1. Interface is buggy
2. No control of size
3. No control of background
4. It displays album material of an album that may, or may not be in the center of the window, while, at the same time
5. What is in the Progress Bar at top is totally unrelated.
6. It will not accept the art that you have designated for it in iTunes info.
7. It just decides for itself om occasion to jump to another album for no apparent reason
8. it is S-L-L-L-O-O-O-W-W-W-W. Frozen molassis runs circles around it.
9. Frequent "Spinning Beachball of Death" displays
10. iTunes icon starts bouncing at times.
11. System Freeze/Crash only way to resolve is computer re-start.
12. Other than that, simply wonderful

WHY, oh WHY does Apple NOY bring back CoverFlow in iTunes 11?!?

I feel like I just threw three bucks out in the street.
