Ratings and Reviews
An intuitive interface and well-paced lesson plan make this app a fantastic alternative to traditional pencil-and-paper math. Sliding factors from one side of an equation to another will keep students actively engaged in each problem, and because it’s impossible to break the rules of algebra, they can freely experiment until they find a solution. Plus, a handy build-your-own-equation tool lets students tackle assigned problems—or create clever ones for classmates to solve.
This app needs to be balanced with an actual pencil and paper by the part of the user. It is awesome for instilling a sense of understanding. However, the app won't let you actually fail. Failure is important to probe ones understanding. I wish there was more. I'm a 40 something that has a 5 year old. I sucked at math and recall there being no one at home that could help or even instill enthusiasm. I don't want to perpetuate that cycle with my kid. I love this app for getting me motivated toward understanding and enthusiasm toward the language of mathematics. 4 stars only because I want more.
Great app only score of 81 accuplacer
What I’ve done to learn algebra is I write out the problem on paper and then solve it on paper and then use the app to check my work. I received my ged in nov 2007, took the axcuplacer and scored a 39, downloaded this app played around for 3 days here and there bout 8 hours total and scored a 81 on the accuplacer, so all in all pretty good app. Kept me entertained. Totally worth the 3 bucks!
