Ratings and Reviews
A "must have" app for anyone who dines out with food allergies
If you dine out with allergies, AllergyEats has to be in your pocket or purse. This is the only comprehensive guide of restaurants rated on the basis of allergy-friendliness. Ratings are based on the reviews from others in the food allergy community, making this like the Yelp or TripAdvisor for food allergies. See the ratings, read the reviews, check menus, save favorites, reserve through OpenTable, touch for directions or a call - the features are spectacular, especially the ones added in this version. The Disney-specific guide is useful and the new NYC guide is soooo useful! Love the blog stories and critical info, and the annual Top 10 list is always great to see. Overall, so valuable. A "must-have!"
Great app - will be better with more users
The info on this app has made traveling with our food allergic son so much easier. We were directed to great restaurants that were happy to work with our needs and away from those that have been poor choices for allergy families.
Apps like this are only as good when more members join and participate. The food allergy community needs to support each other with this sort of information.
Long time user
Updating my review and upgrading to 3 star. The search function on the app is reasonable and can pick up on my location.
Allergy Eats has given us the gift of safe meals many times. On the other hand, there is functionality that I feel is missing.
Key missing functions for me are the ability to search a larger radius and the ability to focus on number of reviews. We will happily drive 40 miles out of our way on vacation to eat at a restaurant that has many positive reviews on Allergy Eats. One trip to the ER after contaminated food more than covers the cost of a few gallons of gas.
I think it would be good to show chain ratings as well as specific store ratings. You can kind of get there is a chain is on the top ten list, but it would be good to see ratings aside from that as well.
Developer Response ,
We're sorry for any problems you've experienced recently and would love to get more feedback from you at email@example.com. As a long time user, you know the value we provide - so please help us identify any problems by sharing more details with us. We'd greatly appreciate this support!
Given the adaptive design of our website (i.e. it is designed to look good no matter the size of the screen - from a phone to a large computer monitor), the mobile web version of AllergyEats should provide a more-than-satisfactory temporary solution to any app problem. But we would love to hear the details of your issue as we haven't had any other recent reports.
Thank you for your consideration and we're sorry for the recent troubles you've experienced.
Thank you for the revised rating. I do want to inform you, to your last point, that you can in fact see chain ratings just below the individual restaurant ratings. So, for example, if you see a Red Robin restaurant listed, you will find the Red Robin chain rating in smaller stars just below where the individual restaurant rating is posted. Hope that helps!
