While parents maintain visibility and control, kids of all ages (5 to 22) develop financial literacy through vital, firsthand experience with their own real money. Allowance Manager is how kids GET money (not just receive it, but actually understand it).

Set the system to automatically post an allowance entry to each kid's account each week. Then as exceptions arise (e.g. tasks completed, gifts received, purchases or donations made), quickly and easily add credit and debit entries as appropriate. When your family/kid is ready, add the AllowanceCard® (accepted everywhere VISA is accepted) to empower kids to make decisions at real world points of sale. Move money to an AllowanceCard in manageable amounts as needed. Transactions made with the AllowanceCard dovetail seamlessly and automatically into the accounts. With a simple glance at the app, know who has how much and why. Through this early, frequent firsthand experience with their own real money, kids simply become effortlessly financially literate.

Allowance Manager® • How kids GET money!™
Allowance Manager® • Experiential financial literacy!™
Allowance Manager® • We owe it to our kids!™

We parents want our kids to develop crucial life skills.
One such skill is understanding money.
Like any skill, it is best honed through firsthand experience.
Recognizing this, we introduce allowance.

Because our lives are busy, we neglect to follow through.
We forget when, how much, for what, etc.
This leaves our kids without the ability to practice.
Their only option is to ask us for money.
It also breeds mistrust.
There is a better way.

It automates the mundane and repetitive.
It makes it simple to handle only the exceptions.
As a result, everyone knows who has how much and why.
Kids get reliable, early, frequent, firsthand experience!
Understanding money quickly becomes second nature!
It is a safe, low-stakes learning environment.

Allowance Manager is how kids understand money.
You're raising a money-savvy adult.
Congratulations, you're an awesome parent!

Customer Reviews

Clunky and poor customer service

I used to really love this app. Great interface; smooth, seamless intuitive to use.
But, after a recent update, I have to input my user name and password EVERY time I want to access the program. This is frustrating! Why have an app when I have to remember my password (which I often forget)?! I have five children and there is a lot going on... I do not want to have to stop and try to figure out a user name and password when all I want to do is enter my data and move on...if I wanted to interact with the web site and sign on every time, I would not bother with the app...but the app now works like the website...CLUNKY
Very frustrating!
So, I tried to contact customer support...
Not A Peep
Will be looking for a new app right now.

What Happened !

I had monitored this app for a year and it looked promising with reviews in Forbes and WSJ and USAA. An email offer came for a discounted annual membership purchase which we tried on Feb14th. I am waiting along with a very saddened young child on our custom allowance debit card and it has been over a month. There is no response from email or phone customer service. Did the company disappear or is it all a big SCAM?

Good if you don't use the card.

It is good for just keeping track. But we don't need a card.
