A must have for hikers and trail runners
I downloaded the app and familiarized myself with it, before trying it on the trail. Within 2 days we've done 4 strenuous hikes/trail running and approx 16 miles. I download my trails while I have cell service, apply the overlays and then everything is ready when I start my hike. If you record your hike, it tracks the distance, vertical gain and time on the trail. Then you can save your results and also leave a review of that hike. I like the overlay that includes "other trails". We live in an area with a lot of trails that connect to each other, so if you want to connect to another one, you can with ease. The reviews that are attached to each trail, are very helpful. Many of the reviews include tips, like which way they recommend starting a loop trail, whether or not the trail is difficult to navigate, some even warn about ticks or over grown trails. I've used the tips and they've been very helpful. I'm very pleased with my initial experience! Happy Trails!
I LOVE this app!
This app is perfect. I'm a hiker and I use this app all the time. I also recommend it to everyone I know who is a hiker.
One recommendation - now that we can connect with other members on the app, it would be really cool if I could link my AllTrails profile to my Facebook and Instagram so that I can find friends I already know that way. Also, finding friends through the contacts on my phone would be helpful.

Useful and easy to use
I have just started using this app and have been very pleased. The app automatically find trails near you or you can search in other locations. With the pro version you can track exactly where you are as you hike which is extremely useful for trails that are not well marked.
There is lots of information about every trail including elevation, difficulty and whether it is good for kids.
