A mesmerizing and fast-paced word building game with stunning visuals and intuitive gameplay. Test and refine your skills as you play through increasingly challenging levels.
Highly addicting anagram-style puzzle suited for beginning spellers as well as proficient wordsmiths.
Word lists are based on official Scrabble(tm) references-- the Tournament Word List (TWL 2006) and SOWPODS (2006). These references include abbreviations and acronyms to provide expanded word choices.
We're hard at work on the next release of Alphagram which will be free to all existing users. This major upgrade is coming soon!
There is one major flaw here
I love the look and feel of this game. It's terrific. But there is one rather huge problem: most of the words that it wants you to come up with are not real words. I'm a big fan of word games, and I know all the Scrabble words, the dictionary words allowed in crossword puzzles, etc. Believe me, a lot of the "words" here are merely random assortments of letters. This becomes a problem when you have to spend precious time guessing which combination of letters is considered a word, and which is not. For example, in my most recent game, MNA is a word, but ANM is not. EAN is, but the equally unlikely AEN is not.
Great game, great price!
One warning: this game is addictive! It's a well thought out, fast-paced word game that appears to use a Scrabble-like dictionary to determine acceptable values. (This results in some interesting words, as noted by others.). The app is remarkably fast given the number of possible word permutations, and the graphics are crisp and clean. Given the low price, this app is a steal that will provide hours of fun.
This was one of the first applications I purchased for my phone (quite some time ago). I agree with many that it is a great game oveerall, but want a feature where you can save the game and keep going from where you left off. Also I agree some of words they all words are not found in any dictionary I know of and are not words when you look them up in such applications as Word Find
