Awesome app but beware..
I really love this app for the advertised features. This is by far the best Quran app on any platform I have come across.
That said, the new version of this app has a virus like feature. Once the app is run it activates a background athan call. The athan call is short (the first Allahuakbar only) but starts playback automatically 5 times a day. I'm sorry to classify such a feature as a virus, but the fact is that
- it's not mentioned anywhere
- I have no control over it
- it gets silently activated on running the app and does not get disabled even after shutting down the app in the task manager
- once it starts playing the sound, there is absolutely no way to turn it off. Mute is not honored, as are not the volume controls.
Perhaps the app developer thinks it's honorable to remind people to pray, but to be frank it's been extremely embarrassing sitting in a professional meeting with a roomful of people and have this thing go off. Not only did I have no clue how it got there, I could not silence it.
Mashaallah, this is a wonderful app. The look is great, it's smooth to the touch, it's not bulky, and completely free! However, I have a few suggestions that I sincerely hope you will consider.
1- for the font selection, could you perhaps put a few letters to show us what it looks like?
2- listing the translations for each language according to popularity, and marking which fonts and translations have already been downloaded for the surah.
3- when reading long surahs, little points that signal the end of a page.
4- reading horizontally when flipped on it's side
5- change the translation font? Because Arial is very bulky and collides with the smooth Arabic font.
Add these and it will 100% be THE best Quran app out there. THANK YOU DEVELOPERS!
No problem. It's good app.
It's not like whole of translation is of Shia sect.
What I saw is it consisted translation of all sects. Like
Md mohsin khan English translation - Ahl e sunnat jamah.
Tahir ul quadri Urdu translation - Sunni jamah
If it was only Shia. Then why would they include sheik shuraim audio (qari of MAKKAH TUL MUKARRAMAH).
Think and add your reviews brothers and sisters.
Well whatever it is.
Pros and cons in app.
1) it's better than other Quran apps in iTunes.
2)especially far better than iquran 3.
1) its not yet retina display.
2)clarity of Arabic text must be still improved.
Request to developer of Alquran app.
Please provide a update which must support retina display quality I.e, 960*640 resolution.
