Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
With alterImage you can, crop, scale, size, rotate, convert and rename a single image or a folder of images. It is fast, efficient, and very useful for anyone who works with images and graphics. Great for working with multiple images and thumbnails and ideal for website photo galleries too. You can see the image in the info panel and any editing you have selected will be reflected there so you see the resulting image's size, resolution and other details. This way you know exactly what editing will take place. A great image tool that is a pleasure to use.

This app works well but can take some practice for a novice like me. My project: To create a FB icon I copied an outline onto an Open Ofice Draw page, then created some text and dragged that over the outline. Next I exported the result as a jpeg image. Then used the source button in alterImage to load it in. Next trimmed the image to create a perfect square. Then saved it to documents using the “destination” button. After that I used the iMac Preview application to resize to 180 X 180 picels and it was ready for Facebook.
