Pretty (but) Pathetic
Written instructions non-existent. Functions — e.g. width, opacity, and quality of line — adjusted by marginally useful “icons” in addition to more involved menu choices re same. Color choices limited although the method for mixing them is fun if not long-term useful since as near as I’ve been able to tell palettes don’t save. My one request for assistance was met with an “I can’t replicate that” therefore can’t help reply. (If I could have replicated it I probably wouldn’t have asked for help!). I know of some fine work imported from Amaziograph by individuals whose work I admire in Pigment, so I’m giving this a higher rating than I otherwise would, since I figure some of my difficulties are due to majoring in trial and error learning. What prompted this review was what I hope was not a last straw event: the app froze on my iPad so I took the now-usual action: I deleted the app and reinstalled it. All my work — admittedly not a lot but it was my work — is gone. I think I’ll try find a different app for these functions . .
We really sorry to hear this and we do apologize for inconvenience!
Please, understand that if the app works and our development team can not fix something that can not see on the test iPads and most likely the answer was - we could not replicate your issue.
We are aware about some weird behaviour caused by iOS11 and work on that.
Regarding the color choice you have RGB mixer, too. The way of color mixing was designed for students in the elementary schools.
We have respect to your decision to look for another app, but hope that you will change your opinion when we introduced the new version with layer support and other improvements.
Freezes constantly. 4 crashes within first 5 minutes of use.
I just bought this and tested out for about five minutes and it has already frozen and crashed four times. The first crash was within 10 seconds of drawing. The app just freezes and won't do anything and I have to close it using The iPads home button.
It crashes so often that it's not even worth using until this is fixed. Other than that I like the symmetry drawing ability. However the color mixing is strange, why use a regular color wheel? Also it could use some stroke smoothing options because strokes are slightly jaggy and jittery. Lastly the pressure sensitivity doesn't seem very responsive using the ipencil. You have to really exaggerate the pressure that you use in order to change the stroke size. Other drawing apps feel way more responsive with stroke pressure sensitivity.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
