Saved my sanity!
We have 2 Fire Stick TVs in our house. For some reason, both remotes for both Fire Stick TVs stopped working at around the same time. Changing out the batteries worked temporarily, but they both stopped working again. Decided to see if a phone app might exist to control my Fire Stick TVs without their original remotes. So glad we found this app. Works great so far and even better then the original remotes because the app has Favorites you can more easily access without having to navigate to them. It also has the voice search, which I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money to purchase with the Fire Stick TVs. I no longer have to pull my hair out trying to charge and test out batteries and/or figure out why my original remotes don't work. Hooray!
The app(le) of my eye!
I never write reviews but this app is amazing. I lost the little tiny remote that came with the fire stick. Don't ask me how but it was either the tiny human or the giant dog.. anyways, I thought I was going to have to break down and buy a new remote but then my mom told me about this app. I'm officially calling it life changing. It's so easy to use and connect with your fire stick. It also allows you to use your phone keyboard to search with and that by itself is enough for five stars. It also has a tab for favorite apps so I don't have to search for them on the device. Honestly I just want to shout from the roof tops about how amazing this app is! I haven't had any problems yet and fingers crossed that it stays that way!
Some Good and Not-So-Good
Can say there's anything bad about the app. It works well as a remote and typing with a keyboard is always a good thing. The same can be said about voice control.
The downside is threefold. First, the control pad should have speed or sensitivity adjustments. Second would be the ability to show a listing of the installed apps and being able to "jump" to apps from the app. Third is the lack of headphone connectivity in the app. While I realize Fire TV has Bluetooth capabilities, it doesn't work with several of my Bluetooth headphones. Plus being able to plug in a pair of earbuds would seem to have been on the app creator's must-have list.
All-in-all the app's pretty good.
