Worst customer service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
This app disappeared twice with Apple iOS upgrades while all my other apps remained on my iPad. After endless emails to their support group to restore the app to no avail, I ended up buying the app twice because it is a great dictionary. Now with my new iPhone I restored my apps and the Ahd5 once again failed to restore. I have sent then probably over twenty emails and they keep asking me for information, my purchase date and purchase number. I have sent them my purchase history which is generated by Apple showing I purchased a legitimate app. AHD5 support keeps asking me for that info and I keep giving it to them but I suspect they can't read or the just don't give a flying "F" and hope I will go away. I will keep trying but I want to dissuade anybody thinking of buying this app to LOOK ELSEWHERE. I WOULD GIVE THIS APP zero stars if I could. A negative 5 stars would be more accurate.
Paid $25 for app that doesn’t work
I purchased the 4th edition, and ever since iOS8, the app has crashed any time I went to the search window.
I wrote the authors, and they told me “too bad, so sad, we don’t plan to fix that bug, buy the 5th edition for $25”
I asked about an upgrade deal, and since I bought the app when it first came out I am not eligible for an upgrade, and apparently not eligible for a working app either.
I was excited to see a recent update, thinking they might have fixed the iOS8 issue, but no, they were adding some support for some Evernote stuff, not support for the current iOS.
Don’t waste your money, there are tons of FREE dictionary web sites out there.
Ads?? I won’t know.
I have used this dictionary app from the very beginning. I bought it right away as I knew I wanted a dictionary, and I knew this was a good one. Used it and upgraded it for years (free upgrades, I might add). Eventually I upgraded to iOS 8 and it would not open. So I came to this page to see how to contact them, - and I see you all are saying it has ads??? In an app this expensive? What a huge disappointment. I also have the Oxford American dictionary, so I guess I will just stay with that one. This is a big disappointment. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt - if the above is not correct, please let us know. Thank you.
