Ananda is a global movement based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, who showed how everyone can realize God in their daily lives as a tangible, loving reality.
You can expand your sense of harmony, and gain an increased sense of God’s active presence in your life through ancient and effective techniques including meditation, Kriya Yoga, spiritually oriented Hatha Yoga, community, and divine friendship.

Ananda was founded in 1968 by Yogananda’s direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda, who passed away in 2013. Swami Kriyananda’s spiritual successor is Nayawami Jyotish who, along with his wife Nayaswami Devi, serves as Ananda’s spiritual director.

Wonderful Meditation App

This is the BEST app for all stages of meditation-beginning to advanced. I love the pre-set meditations, but even better is the section where personalized meditations can be set up. This includes opening prayer to a closing bell or Aum....and everything in between. It’s truly terrific to choose which chants and prayers I would like to use and then be able to follow.
I’ve meditated on my own for several years and just love the feeling that I’m meditating with the entire Ananda group. I’ve even gone back and reviewed the “how to meditate “ section and the inspiration section.
The entire app is set up logically and very intuitive to use.

I have been studying meditation in an online course from Ananda. I found out about this app and tried it. It helped me learn the Energization Exercises better by following the video. I have meditated more deeply than usual by listening to the first of about 8 guided meditations - the 25 minute one given by Swami Kriyananda. I gave 4 rather than 5 stars because there is only one short meditation available so far. Having a number of 5 - 20 minute audios of guided meditations would be very valuable for both beginners or even more experienced meditators who want to add another meditation that doesn't take as long. Thanks, Ananda, for this wonderful app and all you do!

Hi Gail, thanks for your great feedback. We've been recording more short meditations based on your suggestion and others' and will be adding them to the app soon.

In the meantime, you might enjoy a couple of new sections: "Meditation Remedies" and "Short Practices for Successful Living."

Best meditation practice and technique for concentration

Ananda meditation is the best practice and technique for starting the day with focus and clarity. The only thing I would say could be changed is some of the choppy video and options for putting a full practice / routine together. More yoga options would also be great since it helps take one into meditation more easily if one's mind is busy. Would love to have tips on how to chant and the instrument called the harmonium.

We do have solutions for a couple of them, so I wanted to share those in case you found them helpful:

- How to Chant: There's a category of videos under Devotional Chanting and Music called "Learn How to Chant with Harmonium" — I think that may be what you are looking for.

- Putting a routine together: Look under "Custom Meditations" for how you can build your own custom practices, that you can then re-use.
