Customer Reviews

does not offer full service

I live near Seattle, Wa but I am working a house near Portland, Or. So I wanted to find service providers in the Portland, Or area. I signed up for and paid the membership for nationwide searches, but unfortunately, the app only allows for searches near your home and for that location only. It will not allow searches anywhere else even though I paid for nationwide searches. I called Angies List for support and they told me that the app was not a full service app. They said that if I needed to search out of my area, the only way to do it was to use a computer because it will not work in the app even if you paid for that service. They said that the app was about a year old and would not likely be fixed in the foreseeable future. So don’t even waste your time here if you are doing multi area searches.

I do like the website on my computer but this app is a fail for me.

No point - Not Mobile

App is really just a partial view into your online account. Not full service and limited, very limited, functionality. Angie's support was bad too.

I purchased a second home -- fixer upper -- and wanted to use mobile app to find local providers. Can't reset your location, only on computer. So what is the point of going mobile? I had to wait a week until I got home and online/on computer.

Then, turns out, the city of my new place is not where the providers are. So I tried to set up a saved address (so I could use the mobile on the go) at the nearest latest city. But my national subscription doesn't cover that area. Huh? So frustrated I quit Angie's list and went back to free yelp listings. Also, yelp had better deals.

Not sue I fully agree with the few other reviews on this app but it does need lots of work on the backend. It is somewhat non-intuitive and when I search a specific company name which I've already reviewed, that Comoany doesn't come up in my results. In fact, every company which doesn't have anything to do with the name I put in comes up which leads me to believe "Angie's list" may not be as objective as they'd like you to think. The app needs work. The system needs work. The concept is still a good one.
