Description

AntiRSI is a program for Mac OS X that helps prevent RSI (repetitive strain injury) and other computer related stress. It does so by forcing you to take regular breaks, yet without getting in the way. It also detects natural breaks so it won't force too many breaks on you.

---------------------------------
NEW ALL SWIFT VERSION
---------------------------------

I created this app over 20 years ago. But with every OS X release it seems introduced yet another issue showing its age. So this version is a port of the old code base into modern Swift and SwiftUI. Still the same AntiRSI. But ready for the future.

NEW:

* The break window uses a bit of shadow and gradients to show up better on dark backgrounds.

* Breaks don't interrupt work until you are idle for a bit.

* Uses even fewer resources than the old version, now even supports App Nap.

------------
PLEASE NOTE
------------

AntiRSI is a reminder tool that can be helpful, but it is not a medical device. If you experience problems, please consult a doctor.

What’s New

Has saved my wrists and eyes

I've been running AntiRSI for years and it's super helpful. I've always customized both the timing and duration of breaks, to match what my doctor suggested. I've used the long breaks to keep from getting RSI and the short breaks to keep from getting migraines from staring at the screen too long.

The long break alert is intentionally obtrusive, but easy enough to postpone when you really need 10 more minutes.

AntiRSI is one of the first apps I install on a new Mac -- I can't live without it!

Return of the King

AntiRSI has been a little secret of mine for years; I use it to both remind myself to get up and as a lazy man's pomodoro timer. The long breaks are the largest benefit for me, and I haven't used the short breaks very often.

I think this is a must-have productivity and personal habits tool. Just don't hit the "postpone" button all the time. :)

I've had to engage with the short breaks recently, because there appears to be a bug with the new version where if you have short breaks disabled, the long breaks stop functioning correctly. It's legit the only reason I'm not five-starring this at the present time.

The perfect break timer! Back from the dead!

I've been using AntiRSI for many years, more than a decade. I've found it to be the best balance between intrusive and helpful for ensuring I take adequate breaks during the day. (I have chronic tendonitis.) I consider it _essential_ software on my Mac.

Recently I was setting up a new Mac, and discovered that it was missing from the Mac App Store. Horror! It had been years since being updated, and I thought it was dead.

So finding that it's been updated, a total rewrite, and still just as effective—it's made my month.

Highly recommended if you need helpful reminders to take your eyes off the screen, and hands off the keyboard.
