**Rated Top Application and #1/top ten in many countries.**
Touch the screen of Antograph and you release a stream of ants from your fingertips. They follow your movements because you’ve also released invisible chemical trails that tell them where to go. Still, the ants often lose their way and wander across the screen. Antograph is a combination of drawing, animation, art, science, and gaming. It was first released as a work of interactive art by Scott Sona Snibbe that was only available in galleries and museums. Now it’s available as an iPhone and iPad application. Tap the bottom of the screen for a toolbar to change ant size, erase, and share on Facebook and via email.

“Of the millions of apps out there, none quite capitalize on the sheer fun and beauty of interactivity the way that Scott Snibbe’s do.” -- Cool Hunting

Sweet! Paint with marching ants!

Antograph just got better. Before the update it was a beautiful art app, with armies of ants following user-defined pheromone trails. Once you drew trails, you could just let the ants wander indefinitely. It was so fun that I desperately wanted to see the detail of each ant. In the new version, the ants have visible moving legs and antennae. One can also change the ant size, and combine armies of different sized ants, allowing one to paint a picture with ants. Lastly, you can save your pictures or post to Facebook.

What I enjoy most about Scott Snibbe's apps is the meditative experience they produce. I could play with them for hours, as they require just the right amount of active participation. There are an infinite number of outcomes, and no two times are the same. Great job again, Snibbe!

This gets my annual award for most improved app of 2010!!! The old version was somewhat cool dots moving around like ants but this update is actual ants of different sizes of your choosing with moving legs and bodies. It went from a throwaway gimmick app to a freaky cool creepy fascinating special effects mind boggler! I'm so impressed! But why would you "thank" the people that bought your app by giving it to everyone else??? Jerk.

Antograph is filled with thousands of realistic ants, their legs squirming as they cover my iPad and iPhone in trails from my fingertips. Mesmerizing. Enjoying the new ability to upload to Facebook, email, and change the size of the ants. It's like making a drawing with bugs.
