This app is a lot of help if you use it a long time in advance. The quizzes help to narrow down the areas you need to concentrate on studying so that you do not waste time reviewing material you already know. It helps you to prioritize certain topic and make the most effective study plan. However, if you just begin to use this app a few weeks before the exam, it is not that helpful. It takes a while to plan and begin your recommended study process and two weeks only leaves time for cramming material. To be most effective this app should start to be used at least 1.5 months in advance. Also, most of the review is very detail oriented, so if you use the app without a broader understanding of U.S. History, then it may not make much sense. The details all fall into place as parts of larger events and time periods that are not reviewed in the app, so it could definitely not be the only study tool used to do well on the exam. I have not used the app for other courses, but would assume they are structured the same way. Overall I would recommend the app because it allows you to review many facts that may have slipped your mind as well as familiarize yourself with the format and wording of the AP Multiple Choice Questions. If you do purchase this app, make sure to take full advantage of the terst and study tips as well as the short diagnosis quizzes that are topic specific.
This app is great especially for on-the-go studying! I got the book for APUS and it helped but this was nice when I couldn't have the book with me. I plan to continue to use it when I take different AP courses next year. I just wish there was a Spanish one and one for Calculus on the iPhone! And either I was over doing it or I found a couple of mistakes in the US History one.
I really loved the app! It's extremely helpful just taking the test and seeing example questions, and then the fact it explains the answers thoroughly to you is just perfect. This is a great study tool and well worth the money.
