You can use this map to explore the data we have collected about settlement activity in the West Bank. The map is organized in several layers that show different kinds of data. In the Layer Selector, use the "Zoom to" buttons to view different areas of the map with preselected sets of layers. Or, you can turn on or off individual layers to customize your view, view details about the different data layers or select a settlement from a list.

After you have selected an individual settlement, touch the blue info arrow and we'll show you the data that we've collected about it, such as the year it was established and its population.

When we post news stories about events in the West Bank, we'll include a link that takes you directly to the location. You can then explore the area so you can understand the news in context.

If you want to understand what the fuss about settlements is about...

If you're looking to get past the headlines and get a look for yourself at the geography of the West Bank and the interplay between settlements and the Palestinians, then you should get this app.

It's got a lot of interesting data plugged in, all sorts of layers that you can turn on or off, and the ability to zoom in and out. That means that you can really customize what it is that you want to see.

(BTW, the accusation that this app only presents data about Palestinians killed, but not about Israelis is totally bunk. Data about neither is in the app. Anybody is welcome to their opinion about who is at fault for the conflict or which side is the greater victim, but this app is not about those opinions. It's about the facts. And that's a refreshing change.)

The truth can't be hidden forever!!!

The truth can't be hidden forever and the truth of this matter is the Zionist regime stole the 1948 land of Palestine and is continuing to do so with the 1967 land of Palestine (as we can see using this phenomenal application)

Nevertheless, a message to every Zionist dreaming of the permanent removal of the Palestinians from their homeland, you will only do just that, which is dream of such a thing happening and NOTHING MORE. No matter how long you control the land of PALESTINE it will only be temporary as you are NOT the rightful owner.

I would like to clarify something: This is not a Muslim and Jewish conflict this is a Muslim and Zionist conflict, as the Zionist regime is working constantly to erase anything and everything Arabic and/or Islamic from the land of Palestine making it a direct attack against ALL ARABS AND ALL MUSLIMS.

In fact the one that attempted to turn it into a Muslim and Jewish conflict was David Ben-Gurion himself, for proof of that you should read Ben-Gurion's Scandals.

Muslims, Jews and Christians have coexisted in the Middle East for centuries in peace. All this changed when the so-called state of Israel was created in 1948 on the land of Palestine (in addition to forcing the Palestinians from their homes and off their lands) and history has proven this to be true.

...on Israelis who are complicit in allowing their democracy to be hijacked by the rightwing nut jobs and ultra-deluded religious zealots who fuel this land-grab. Because they live in a bubble, my country suffers for it.

Thanks for these facts on the ground. If many more Americans would view this map (other than our own nut jobs and zealots), the Israeli government would have to shape up fast, because they'd lose their $4 billion a year subsidy.

It's so very sad when victims become hard-hearted persecutors in denial.
