Minor bug fixes
The problems are excellent exercise
I used to have a high A rating (above 1900). I am out of practice and trying to get my strengths back. The problems are excellent exercises, and the brief notes remind you of the patterns that each problem illustrates. You can learn a lot from solving these problems and learning to recognize the patterns. The problems are grouped quite reasonably into levels of difficulty, and you don’t have to solve the easy problems before going on to the harder ones, if you prefer. This is an excellent app for the price! - tobias d. robison (tobyr21)
Chess masters for masters, not beginners
Misleading app notes make it seem like the app teaches anyone how to be a chess master - it may teach u from being an experienced player to a master but this is NOT for beginners. No tutorial on how to play chess, no explanation about the "chess master" moves, just a short sentence about how 1 person beat another person using that move. How about telling us why that move is great or why it's better than other potential moves? And one of the chess master moves gave the option to "see rest of game" but it moved so fast I couldn't understand each move or why they chose that move. At least have a button to hit "next" or "all at once" or something. This app has potential but it's certainly not made for inexperienced players. Disappointing.
First off the computer player is ridiculously hard regardless of difficulty. Second the game always ends in a draw even if I move my pawn, the draw counter needs to work properly and reset according to the rules. Third the solution to the puzzles is in the title, needs to be a bit harder and there is no online multiplayer. Quickly I tire of losing to the computer. I'm not the best chess player but at least I can win sometimes while playing against another person.
