There are dozens of apps that provide long tedious lists of every single app that ever goes free or short lists of apps that paid a lot of money to be included. But only AppsGoneFree gives you authored, handpicked recommendations from an AppAdvice.com app expert of apps that belong on your device.
**INTRODUCING APP BUMP**
Being part of the very large AppsGoneFeee community has its perks. Collectively, you have the power to convince apps to go free. With AppBump, simply nominate great apps that are not getting the attention they deserve because the price tag is standing in the way.
We'll approach the developers of these apps, and let them know we have a community of users who will all try their app if they go free for just a single day. So it's your way to give back to the community, by sharing great paid apps with each other and getting them free. Remember to nominate every paid app you love, and when you see a bumped app, give it a shot! Our community vouched for it, and the developer did it just for us! =)

Great as far as it goes.
The iPhone app works great. Not so, the iPad app. I used to check this app daily and found many apps to DL. Lately I visit once a week or so. Most apps now days are either apps I have or too similar to apps I have. But I like to check anyway. And this is where I have the problem with the iPad version. It works fine with today's list. It is when I want to get into the archives that I have problems. Best case scenario occurred today. Window opens with today's choices is the main part with a column on the left with buttons for the past several days. I looked through today's offerings. Nothing of interest so clicked on the button for yesterday. Soon found an app I wanted and was able to DL it fine. But on returning to this app, all the buttons for past days were gone, replaced with a spinning "waiting" icon. The archive bottoms never to return. Often this is what I get from the start. Note: My iPad is an original, or iPad1 running an older IOS.
AppsGoneFree is a fantastic app. I love being able to try out a variety of apps, many of which would usually be costly (ie they don't just post $0.99 apps). Sometimes I end up not liking one of them or finding it not useful & I don't feel bad about deleting it since it cost me nothing. On the other hand, I will often check out the developers other apps & find something I like there. I really like the variety of educational apps they offer--my kids are too old for many of them but they are often perfect for my 2 yr old niece (who really knows her way around my iPad!) The only thing I sometimes find annoying is they do post a LOT of photo apps--really how many of those things do you need? Overall though this is one of the best apps I've ever encountered & I use it every day!
Great app, but could use some VoiceOver access upgrades
I religiously look at this app everyday, and often share apps with my grown children that I believe would be helpful for them, or their kids. However, there are some VoiceOver accessibility issues that should be improved. Not all buttons have text labels, it is impossible to tell if an app is for iPad only, unless the description specifically mentions iPad. The symbol that indicates iPad use is inaccessible. Some buttons have extraneous text info, such as the Share button, which reads FlatShareButtonWithShadow ButtonFlatShareButtonWithShadow Button "flat share button with shadow", which should just say Share. Also, the button labeled selected DetailSegmentPhone Buttonselected DetailSegmentPhone Button is unclear what its purpose is.
