You've been dreaming of playing basketball at the office. Now it's possible!
Now everything you need to play basketball is your iPhone and a small piece of paper. ARBasketball shows augmented reality technology at its best.
Print the marker from http://augmentedpixels.com/arb_marker.pdf and point your phone's camera at it. You'll see the hoop on the marker's place. Throw the ball using swipe gesture and score points. Due to augmented reality technology you'll forget that the ball and the hoop are not real ones and will plunge into the game! Of course you could buy a real hoop but would it be so cool? ;)
-Utilizes true visual augmented reality
-Three game modes
-Integration with social networks
-Retina display support
-Addictive and unique gameplay
-Game autosave on exit and phone call
Please note: for the best experience, you should use iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4 or iPad 2.

What's New in Version 2.0.0
The visuals and sound are well polished. However there needs to be some more challenge to the single player modes. An app like Paper Toss included the random wind which keeps things interesting. Here, once you've found the correct slider setting, it's hard to miss. Speaking of the slider, I would get rid of it and only use the flick method. That's a lot more challenging, although it feels like all your shots are really underpowered, at least on an iPad. I shouldn't have to swipe all the way to the top of an iPad to get full power, that's just too far.
In the classic mode, the map showing where you should be setting up from is nice, but even better would be an AR version of it. Finding just the right angle is a bit frustrating.
Lastly, the app always crashes when you close the Game Center window (I'm running a 3rd gen iPad with iOS 5.1.1).
Could be better
Keep trying. The thing is, there are only 2 good things about this app that it has going for it: iPhone 5 support, and augmented basketball theme.
Please fix the jerkiness of the hoop. Also, help it recognize the tag better. Also, if the tag goes out of sight of the camera, make the app assume where it might be using the gyroscope more efficiently. And please use Game Center for multiplayer. Please.
Also, please make your tag more printer friendly. Keep this tag but add more, perhaps use other tags so people don't have to reprint it, like the one on AR defender. Or better yet, use money, of any denomination.
The lousy basket keeps jumping around. And if I use a screen, the smallest glare ruins it completely!
The AR on this works well if you have a good camera. As long as the picture is flat and your camera is in focus the app works great.
