A nice looking console style game
Surprised to see Psyonix abandoning this game as it looks like a lot of work went into it. It is a 3rd person rail shooter, similar to a Star Fox, but not as story driven. In fact there really is no story here other than you are a janitor defending the base because all the other pilots left. The boss fights are very well done from the silly Junk Monster robot to the unique Grandfather clock face ship. While there are about 63 levels, there really are only 21 and then the levels repeat on a harder difficulty setting. You do get 9 unique boss fights which is nice. It's not a long game but there is a enough variety in levels and ships upgrades to keep playing. The level design is a little stale and the wormhole stages look a bit like a laserdisc game from the 80's. The music was not very memorable either. I would say grab it and play it before it becomes incompatible with future version of iOS. I know on my iPad Air the game stutters very frequently and crashed a few times during a full playthrough.
Wonderfully Starfox Reminiscent
I love this game. I could speak in-depth of the enjoyability and razor edge gameplay that they/you've created. My only complaint is more with the culture of video games nowadays than the game itself. Other than the occasional challenging box sequences the game is too easy. It's so frustrating that the gaming market dictates easy game setting. Make the new one harder and reward me with ingame upgrades like twin blasters and i'll be a lifelong fan. Even without that this game is better than nearly every iphone game.
One if the best iOS games!
I paid for, and played the heck out of the original version of ARC. And I've been playing the heck out of this one to. It runs just fine on iPad mini 1st gen. I had to turn control sensitivity up a bit and it's perfect. Great graphics, sounds, music and overall experience!
